Shoshana is a Broadway queen, I love her. I remember when I first saw this I was so excited haha. Though I think people need to read this song in the context of when it was written, it was written by a husband/wife duo that's intended to be tongue in cheek. Since at the time women really needed an "excuse" as it were to have any kind of romantic initiative. Lol.
People need to stop retroactively 'cancelling' shit. LOL Going forward, we know better but c'mon - let's leave us our happy memories. If it makes YOU uncomfortable - don't listen. (That's a general 'you', not you Brad).
But yeah, Geoff does a great job here and this was my intro to Shoshana and, oh, what an intro it was! Great, playful chemistry and just a beautiful arrangement. Nice reaction.

Maybe it's my age, I don't know, but I never found the song creepy. Seduction is as old as the hills. And a fair bit different from rape. I know. But we all see things our own way.
Maybe age of watcher has something to do with it. This is an oldie was understood back then, as cuties, humorous. What teen boy or young man didn't try to talk their girl into staying longer.
