How a model completely ruins her chance by throwing a hissy fit over having an inch of hair cut. Immature and childish. She belongs in pageants, being a robot in a bikini.
They had already chopped and colored her hair, and they were chopping it again to create drama. Tyra said so herself in an interview after a few years had passed. She said she was glad Cassandra stood up for herself. Not to mention, Cassandra has done acting and modelling jobs, she's married to a handsome, successful actor, and they have a beautiful daughter together. Hate her for something else, but this is petty.
I mean it was already short and I don't think an extra inch off would have made that much of a difference. But in Cassandra's defense you can tell that it really traumatized her because hair is part of your identity and women tend to have a very emotional connection to their hair. And Cassandra certainly did, her hair was a part of her body that she nurtured and took care of all her life and it was a culture shock for her to have her hair stripped away from her. And still now in 2016, Cassandra still has long hair which shows how connected to her hair she is. Usually when women cut there hair they do it very gradually and cut a little more off at a time and not really make the big chop.
I understand that part, but an opportunity like this big doesn't come everyday. Takes sacrifice. This shows too that she love herself and her hair more than the opportunity presented. Nothing bad about that though~
just like she said she was going to get hair extensions when she went back home, she could've gotten them after the competition. This was the 5th cycle of the show, they've done makeovers for each previous cycle. It was no surprise this was possible.
im glad she stood up for herself even if it was a little too late. being this sort of model, the industry literally owns your body and they make these kinds of choices for you, atleast she got to experience it and recognize early on that shes not comfortable being treated like property. and to the people saying she should have expected getting a haircut, yeah she should have but only a handful of girls every season get their hair cut super short. to her extent. either way shes now married to a famous actor who she probably wouldnt even have met if it wasnt for this show so im sure she doesnt regret it.
Angry Khaleesi Compare that to Christian Bale or Charlize Theron gaining weight for their acting roles and looking at this woman you would feel small and shallow.
No, married to whoever famous or rich ass filthy rich does not make her anymore luckier. If she cannot follow the rules she should have known earlier and that its not the path she should have chosen but to show up there just to humiliate herself is not wise at all. She should not have even go there. Yeah, a model life is like this anyway. You cant go to school and make your own rules there. Its better she stayed at home instead of going there just to show the world shes grounded.
I've watched every season of this show. I like watching the photo shoots. Not the drama. But one of the biggest slogans the judges and Tyra says is "be true to yourself". "Be you". But when they say they ARE being them and don't want to look utter ridiculous with those dumb ass makeovers, they boot them off or give them shit.Good for her. Although at this point, the damage was done, one more inch really isn't much compared to the hack job they already did to that poor girls hair. Shame on you Tyra and ANTM for sending mixed views and not believing in what you preach. Besides, NONE of these girls make a big career out of this. They just get pushed a side for the next season. There is absolutely NO WINNING on this show. Only more money in Tyra's pocket. Get over yourself.
It’s so funny that Jay does the jay’s chat and tries to make it seem like it was all Tyra and production, he was toxic too not to mention he hosted Canada’s next top model which did the exact same stuff
I'm glad she walked out. It was the right thing to do and she just finally told the people "Enough". Some people say she was throwing a hissy fit all because of her hair, but they don't get it. Long hair can be something very precious to someone. It stands for self-identity, accomplishment and personality. I have long hair and I've waited a very, very long time for it to grow. I would never let anyone cut it. When they cut her hair, Cassandra felt somewhat "dehumanized" because the real goal was to completely change her into something else entirely. And that sabotages a person's true self.

Here’s the thing about being a model: you don’t own your look. You’re shaped to what the designers want you to look like. If you can’t put up with that, then the industry is not for you, especially if you audition by saying that you’ll do whatever they want you to do, That’s like you saying you’ll join the Army and have no issues following orders but then refusing to shoot because you’re not a killer. Good for her for wanting to preserve her image HER way, but let’s be real: I’m sure a girl at casting would have gladly gone bald for a chance at the title so what sucks is that such a girl was denied a spot for a girl with a spoiled attitude.
She shouldn't let them do it. I mean, I would have rather just give up, a thousand of times. They had no right. Nobody should decide about your hair. Wtf!? Even if you are a model. So sorry for her I did really feel bad, I couldn't have take it if that would have been me. I hate Tyra for this, and J too.
UnluckyAmulet Yeah but from a pixie cut, it takes a looooong time. Tyras a fabulous model, but maaan did she make some wrong decisions for some of these girls makeovers. Look at what happened to Molly?
That's true, but it just seemed so stupid to me that she'd walk out NOW when they'd already cut it short and wanted another inch off. The hair is already gone so you might as well just stick it out.
When Cassandra went home she says shes gonna get hair extensions... Like duhhh... Cutting ur hair short isn't the worst shit that could happen....you.have weaves...wigs and extensions u can use to get ur long hair look until ur hair grows back. So shallow and dumb. And wasted so much time and her spot could've been given too another of the first terminated girls who really wanted to stay... She just too much of a pageant girl

Here’s the thing about being a model: you don’t own your look. You’re shaped to what the designers want you to look like. If you can’t put up with that, then the industry is not for you, especially if you audition by saying that you’ll do whatever they want you to do,
That’s like you saying you’ll join the Army and have no issues following orders but then refusing to shoot because you’re not a killer.
Good for her for wanting to preserve her image HER way, but let’s be real: I’m sure a girl at casting would have gladly gone bald for a chance at the title so what sucks is that such a girl was denied a spot for a girl with a spoiled attitude.
now she's with Oliver Queen
Not sure how that's considered a hissy fit....thanks for the upload though!
She does know hair grows back, right?
UnluckyAmulet Yeah but from a pixie cut, it takes a looooong time. Tyras a fabulous model, but maaan did she make some wrong decisions for some of these girls makeovers. Look at what happened to Molly?
That's true, but it just seemed so stupid to me that she'd walk out NOW when they'd already cut it short and wanted another inch off. The hair is already gone so you might as well just stick it out.
It's not that deep
lol ir
she is not even make it to miss USA or smth. she is not pretty anyway
It's so sad she cut it, and then she was cut
When Cassandra went home she says shes gonna get hair extensions...
Like duhhh... Cutting ur hair short isn't the worst shit that could happen....you.have weaves...wigs and extensions u can use to get ur long hair look until ur hair grows back.
So shallow and dumb.
And wasted so much time and her spot could've been given too another of the first terminated girls who really wanted to stay...
She just too much of a pageant girl
and now she is marry to stephen amell
i mean good for her for having a good career after this show but if who you are is hair then betch bye
ikr
She should’ve done that before they cut all her hair off. The fact she said no to the cut after she already had a pixie cut bothers me
I know. That's the part I struggle with here too. It's already gone. But they were kinda picking on her
They should get that Jay put him in the army with the men buzz his head and make him stop bullying girls to ruin their hair with bleach, this guy is gay bully boy, go try and bully some men see how far you get Jay. Glad this pretty girl had the gutts to walk out and rectify her hair, to some type of normality, and not the tacky bleached mess they gave her, it looked tacky and dated, Its not 1981 anymore JAY.
Heavenly Father, as Your child, help me speak with simplicity and wisdom to all the children in my life. I ask that You also give me a greater understanding for all of those with whom I communicate. Lord, I thank You for Your precious Holy Spirit, and Your daily wisdom. In Jesus' Name, Amen. :) X
good for her
She should have had this attitude before they chopped all her hair off.
This Cassandra girl just got married to Stephen amell aka ARROW. like how did that happen!?where did they meet lol?!
Why was she disqualified from being on this show this show did almost nothing for her
Whoever made this video; the description written for the video is awful! You look down on pageants when the modeling industry is one of the dirtiest and most unprofessional industries in the world? Wow...
