I think Lover (I know a lot of people call it her worst album, but I love this album so much), but I love all of her albums
evermore
Speak Now 💜💜💜
Mine is speak now, reputation, folklore and midnights but I love all the albums. Each one is so unique and different
speak now 💜✨
Imagine being 15 when this album came out. All this angst. All the teenage hormones. The falling in love. The pining. The feeling like no one gets you. The being friend zoned. The wearing your heart on your sleeve. It hits.
I was obsessed with her look too. I wanted my hair like that so bad.
Instant swiftie.
This brought back so many memories. The Debut album is special to me, it’s when my Swiftie journey began. Fun Fact: Tay wrote Tim McGraw in her math class. She was like “nah the math ain’t mathing, imma write me my first single” LOL
TIMESTAMPS
1:10 - TIM MCGRAW
8:02 - PICTURE TO BURN
12:22 - TEARDROPS ON MY GUITAR
17:57 - A PLACE IN THIS WORLD
21:56 - COLD AS YOU
26:34 - THE OUTSIDE
30:10 - TIED TOGETHER WITH A SMILE
thank you for this!
no I'm Only Me When I'm With You 🥹:(
@@swiftful13 that and Stay Beautiful got SO ROBBED from featuring, I was so excited to see her reaction to them
@@KrashKaistay beautiful is so underrated
@@himynameisanna5650 Stay Beautiful TV is gonna kill me FRFR
taylor actually wrote tied together w a smile for her friend who was going through an eating disorder at the time 😢
Tied together with a smile is what solidified my swiftie status. It was the beginning to me coming to terms with that fact that I wasn't okay. I'm still not okay but I'm trying.
just realised that a place in this world reminds me of "you're on your own kid"
also in "the outside" she says "take the road less travelled by" and she says that in "illicit affairs"
Yes!! Or "I know you wouldn't have told nobody if I died for you" and then in peace "I'd die for you in secret"
The best thing about country music is that when country music is written it is written in a story format like most country songs aren't necessarily a general overview of a subject like I want you to feel beautiful or I want you to feel better about yourself it's usually a story like explaining how close they were their relationship the nice beautiful things that he would say why they broke up and explaining how she feels about it now all of Taylor songs are really good at that she tells stories in her songs and I 100% believe that's because she started out as a country music artist.
Picture to burn was my s*** whenever I was a kid and I will absolutely never ever ever forget Abigail and I'm really glad to see that Abigail and Taylor still communicate and have kept in touch over the years it makes me very happy ❤️❤️
What is the s word?
@@catchickenleg8878 shit ..... I just spoke into my phone and it bleeps for me 🤣🤣🤣 I don't care enough to fix it
@@conmom1825 o i see, lol 😆
@@danameyy Taylor said WHAT?! 😭🤣
@@danameyy is that real?
she wrote the outside when she was 12, here’s what she said about it
“This is one of the first songs I ever wrote, and it talks about the very reason I ever started to write songs. It was when I was twelve years old and I was a complete outcast at school and never fit in, never felt like I belonged. A lot of times back then when I was 12 or 13, I would write songs about relationships, when I wasn’t in relationships, because I would look at other people and try to observe what they were going through. But in the case of ”The Outside,” I was writing exactly what I saw. I was writing from pain.“
this is when she also said people haven't always been there for me but music always has
The band in the Picture to Burn video is her actual touring band from that time! They called themselves The Agency. She still has the same bassist and guitarist now and the girl with the red hair was her fiddle player Caitlin which since leaving country she doesn’t really need in her band anymore. She brought Caitlin in for background vocals on a lot of the re-recordings though.
Picture To Burn, Should've Said No, and Cold As You, they are my top 3 on debut! 💚
I can’t wait for Taylor’s Version so that her debut album can get the attention it deserves. It’s honestly such an incredible album for a 15-16 year old to write! And you were drawing the parallels to her new stuff, you can really see how even with all of the genre switches and growth, she really has had the talent and the star power the whole time!
oh man I wanted to see your reaction to Mary's song. I love the story she tells with that one. one of my favorites from the debut album along with "I'm only me when I'm with you"
YES THE "GIVING IT AWAY LIKE IT'S EXTRA CHANGE" LYRIC APPRECIATION !! tied together with a smile is such an underrated song, it's my favourite from debut and I LOVE its lil' guitar riffs~
I cannot wait for Taylor’s version with the mature vocals!!! Picture to burn was my fave song when I were 5!
@knee pads fate but it does, so she can own it lol
You really saved my day with this video! I can't wait for the next parts (especially when you will react to Speak Now - I would say it's a fan favorite among Swifties and Taylor wrote it all by herself!).
I felt so bad for you at the end hahaha, but thank you so much for trying to give us great content! Also the next one is Fearless but it has a taylor's version :)). Thank you so much for your videos, and i hope you still have a great day!!
I still cry to The Outside. I relate to it so much specially when you're bullied and felt alone when ur a kid.
Honestly I never really thought about it but I think it's just like a portable radio like she's also listening to the song on the radio at the same time that he is almost like in a movie when two people are both looking up at the moon at the same time make some feel like they're more together I think that's kind of what it is.
I had a very unfortunate childhood and tied together with a smile by Taylor Swift was when I first realized how sad I really was and how much of my happiness and smiles and laughter and hyperness and everything that I was was a result of me trying to hide outside how sad i was.... I was tied together with a smile and I was coming undone.
We appreciate your insights on Taylor's album. She's certainly legendary in more ways than one.
One of the biggest reasons why I'm so excited for her to record this album is because her voice has matured so much over the last 15 years that it really is going to sound so good and I'm so excited for it I'm so excited for teardrops on My guitar to take over the entire world all over again ❤️❤️
I am excited about the vault tracks.
Same. Debut and speak now are gonna hit the hardest out of remaining ones because her voice has changed so much ever since.
Girlie she's holding a vintage radio
The guy she dated when she was in high school had to move cause he was going to college and he was really nice so she wrote tim magraw for him so if he turned on the radio and her song came one she hoped he'd still think about her
Cold as you and teardrops on my guitar gives so much nostalgia in me 😭
Picture to burn line wasn’t “I don’t mind if I say”
It was “I’ll tell mine you’re gay” that’s why that version doesn’t make sense
I'm a OG swiftie. I remember having to buy another debut cd because I played it too much lol. But I haven't listened to this album in years! This was such a nice walk through memory lane of middle school crushes heart break 💔 I am here for all your reactions to her albums!!
This is exactly what I needed today!!!!
I love to tell people that I have been a fan of Taylor Swift since Tim McGraw and only actual fans of Taylor would understand what I mean and now you can get it too I personally love Taylor's self-titled album actually one of my favorites by her and I personally cannot wait for her to release it because having those songs with a more mature sound I think is going to work really well
im so glad you're doing this. i'll wait til another reputation, 1989, folklore, evermore reaction video comes out, so i can relate to every emotion involved.
nice reaction as always flavour!
Tied together with a. Smile is about her friend who has an ed and she wrote a song about it to her. I don’t know the full story so sorry it’s vague but. Knowing that she has to re record that song and she had one too is so sad 😢
The line “chevy truck that had a tendency of getting stuck” in Tim McGraw is a reference to the move that some guys pull when coming home from dates saying the truck got stuck so they can fool around in the car a little more lol 😂
YASS IVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS YEAHHHHH
I’m so excited that you’re doing this!! You’re one of my favs to watch, love your vibes girl.
You’re gonna have some new favorites after your listen through!!
Don’t forget “I heart ?” from the Beautiful Eyes EP from 2008!
It’s in my top 50
One of the reasons why I love Taylor so much is because she has a song where she says my name and obviously she's talking about a boy but I don't care I get to be a name and one of Taylor songs one of her very first songs that she ever wrote and it makes me excited Corey's eyes 😍😍😍
The first time I listen to Taylor was in early 2007 when "Teardrops On My Guitar" was released as a single. I listened to this album so much that even 15 years later I know the words to each song.
I think this album is underrated (I like it more than other newer Taylor albums) and people forget that there was a great reason why it was the most sold country album of the year when it came out.
cold as you is such an underrated track 5 and song in general… one of my faves 🤌
Love this! Can't wait for more!!
I’m so excited with these reactions!!!!
What an amazing trip down to memory lane! Thanks for this and I'm so excited for the next episodes omg
I've been waiting for this LET'S GOOOOOO
FINALLY grl I've been waiting since FOREVER
I hadn’t watched the mv for teardrops in soooooo long 😭 how could I forget Chris Keller is Drew in it??? 💀 love how you said “it’s like one tree hill” bc… yeah 😂
almost screamed when i saw this-ily!!💗💗
I’m so exited for this 😂🤠❤
Found a new series to watch as they come out. Can't wait to see you react to some of my favourites in her discog. Hurry up and drop the vids, I can't wait!! 💜💜💜
a place in this world -> youre on your own kid
some themes dont change
Oh, that's true!!
IM SO EXCITED FOR SPEAK NOWWWW
Favour this is like early Christmas for us!!! Thank you 🙏🏼 ❤❤❤❤❤
The outside is def in my top 3 from debut and mind you she wrote The outside when she was 12😭😭😭
The Outside is about when she got bullied in middle school
i had to do the same thing a few years ago (im 15 so i wasnt even around for some of her albums) what really helped me get more context was watching swiftologist and chats and reacts videos
Should’ve said no is forever a bop
In fairness to The Outside she wrote it when she was 12, and everything at that age feels Disney as an adult hahah. Super glad you're doing her whole discography, I really enjoy your reactions! Do you have a patreon?
girl your reaction videos put me in such a good giddy giggly mood idk "crocs on sport mode" I fucking love your clueless side commentary. 5 stars
I loved you analysis, very on point. I suscribed.
I’m so damn excited for this re-record. This album actually ranks pretty high for me. Tied together with a smile!? I bawled my eyes out the first time I heard it. Should’ve said no? Iconic
This is gonna be great!
In the outside there is a line which you skipped: “You could have helped if you had wanted to
But no one notices until it's too late to do anything” i really love that. And i also love your reactions, looking forward to next parts
Noooooo we missed Should've Said No?? 😭 I was really looking forward to that one! I'm still here for all of it though!
I think you'll like Speak Now. Really excited.
can't wait for you to get to Speak Now
How much I was waiting for you to do this😭😭😭
Her country accent was actually fake bc she moved to Tennessee when she was like 13 and is originally from Pennsylvania
Around Speak Now her country accent disappears and it’s kinda funny ngl
not gonna say fake but i think she has adapted it by that age since she's constantly trying to fit in and she's a linguistic. Also, in a documentary he accent and voice improved because of vocal exercises as per her vocal coach. Like British people who have really thick accents they have coaches to practice their accents to enunciate clearer ☺️
I'm a Filipino usuallwe have accents when speaking other languages specially English, but since i grew up watching international movies and TV shows (specially Disney) i can speak English and enunciate it clearly ❤️❤️❤️
Happy you loved TTWAS as much as me. It's my favourite
howdy from Georgia! 🤠 debut doesn’t get enough love so I’m happy to see you enjoy it; southern accent and all 😂
You know I have watched this music video several times over the last 14 years give or take and I don't think I ever realized that he was listening to the song on the radio I don't know why that never occurred to me but the song was on the radio and he could hear it I don't know why but that's just perfect cuz that's what the song was meant to be was supposed to be something that that person hears on the radio and got to think about their relationship and know there's a letter that's on your doorstep that I hope you read ❤️❤️❤️
Radio, and then you guessed it right. In "Picture to burn" MV, the girl with her is her best friend Abby from high school. And on Taylor's Fearless album Abby is in the "Fifteen" MV.
cold as you shouldve said no and marys song are actually my top 3 too 😭
loving this
Reputation is probably my favorite album but honestly it's hard for to pick a favorite Taylor anything.....
awww I'm so sorry you missed the footage of those last songs :(( maybe you could react to them a second time, I think many would enjoy listening to your thoughts even though it would be your second time listening to them!
I love how Tim McGraw was written while she was in math class and left the class to use the bathroom to record on her phone. In Picture to Burn the girl in the car with her is her actual best friend in real life. Drew was an actual real guy she had a crush on at school. After the song came out he came up to her and was like I didn't know. Do you want to go out kind of thing, but she said no lol. I am waiting for her to re record her first album just to see what she can do with it. I know everyone wants Speak Now and 1989 but I am waiting for this the most.
What I love most about her “Picture To Burn” video was using real life BFF Abigail as her cohort.
To answer your question for the "Tim McGraw" mv, I believe that's a transistor radio 📻. My mom had a black one but it didn't look like the one Taylor had.
Remembering that also made me remember my mom had this 70's looking 20-30 inch long brown colored radio with two med sized speakers placed on top of it that also play 8 tracks. I remember asking her what it was cuz I've never seen an 8 track player. It looked so odd and interesting, I was intrigued. She then proceeds to bust out this thick ass looking cartridge (thicker than those old video game cartridges) that was about an inch thick, maybe 4 inches wide and about 6-7 inches in length. This is all from memory btw. So I may be off on the size. And I'm like, "What is this?" (Keep in mind, this was before I knew the existenece of cd's. I was 9 when I found out about 8 tracks. I'm 37 now). She was like, "This is the same thing as a cassette or a vinyl, it's just in a different form. You pop it in the open slot of the radio and switch it to 8 track mode and it will start playing all the songs". I was like, whoa 🤯.
Since then I have never seen an 8 track player nor an 8 track cassette, if that's what you call it, ever again. I miss the clunkiness about it. The sound it made clicking into the slot, the sound of the buttons switching to the next track. I miss the interaction with these old radios. My fave radio growing up were the ghettoblasters. Mom got a friend from work to give her one and then she gave it to me. Dude, it made me feel like a DJ lol. All those equalizer functions, the bass blasting... LOVE IT 😍
Oh crap, I've rambled on again. Sorry lol.
YESS THE ENTIRE DISCOGRAPHY!!!!
I think the story building is classic 90s-00s country.. i grew up on country, as I am sure taylor did because of where we are from.. and I am realizing more and more she took the elements of story building from quintessential old country and put it into pop..
You need to react to The 1989 World Tour and Reputation Stadium Tour full films before you see her on tour next year! Those are amazing!
Taylor’s voice is definitely deeper in tone and she has a more softer/breathy effortless kind of sound!!
Woke up this morning to the notification for this video, needed to fully wake up before watching but in the hour I've been up Should've Said No has been on repeat in my head 😂😂😂
i was having such a bad day, thanks for this video ❤️
So sorry your camera went out. Since you aren't a country fan, you might want to look up some videos on what a dobro and a steel guitar sound like. Some of the sounds you thought were banjo were actually the dobro. Steel guitar is pretty unique to country as well, so that might be worth looking up as well. Thank you for your reaction! ❤
Im so emotional bc nobody’s gonna write a song with “got the radio on” bc nobody own that shit no more🥹
I believe that the comment was about teardrops so my guitar but somebody asked her if "drew" knew how she felt and she said I think he does now 🤣🤣🤣❤️
I saw Taylor play a game on Ellen more recently (Lover era maybe?) where the question is about her first kiss. She says it was with her high school boyfriend. Ellen asks what his name was, and Taylor says "Drew". So apparently that was his real name lol.
Okay cold as you relating to my life and current times and making me want to cry 🥺🥺
Now that I'm sitting here thinking it through I've ever been anywhere cold as you 💔💔
Ahhh so sorry about the recording issues !!! ❤️
fun fact: the drew from teardrops on my guitar is a real person and he showed up in taylor's driveway about a year after the album came out
last i heard he's in jail for child ab*se, so i guess she dodged a bullet with that one
I totally forgot the guy from tear drops on my guitar is Chris keller on One Tree Hill !!
Tim McGraw is about her first boyfriend she had where he was going off to college, but she would still be in high school so they broke up because of that. The band in the Picture To Burn MV is her actual band plus the girl with Taylor at the start is Abigail (mentioned in Fifteen and the song happiness is about her divorce) Taylors best friend since freshman year of high school!
15 some odd years ago I asked a guy I liked before we briefly dated what love was like and he told me to listen to Teardrops On My Guitar by Taylor Swift - so I went and bought the CD.
The thing she's holding, that they keep panning back to, is a portable radio!
Also, Cold as You, hands down favorite song on the album. I cried too many times to that song as a teenager. She wrote it at such a young age too. 😮💨
My fav albums would be evermore and reputation😁😁..
Favour: “Taylor swift you know damn well…”
My mind: “and you know damn well, for you I would ruin myself”
Sorry to hear you lost footage you thought you recorded. It's ok, though. I enjoyed your reactions tto the first 7 tracks. :)
My favorite songs from Debut is Cold As You,Invisible and Picture to Burn
I know they are old and stuff BUT what she is holding is a *portable radio* and she is holding it close to her ear pretending to be listening to a song from Tim Mcgraw at the same time HE is listening to the same song on HIS truck radio (supposedly) making the line "when you think Tim Mcgraw I hope you think of me" come to live and kinda saying if you hear that song I will be listening too.... a play on the whole idea of "if you see the moon no matter where I am or you are we will be seeing the same thing and you'll know I am thinking of you" type thing
If I remember correctly this song was written for an ex-boyfriend who went off to college and she was still in high school, hence the "and I thank God that you aren't here to see me like this" he left and she stayed... so it was NOT toxic it was just life.
or maybe she left because of her music career and he stayed behind. either way.
Tied Together With A Smile is about when she found out a friend of hers in high school was suffering from bulimia
My favourite favourite favourite TS album is Speak Now/Evermore! Forever biased towards Speak Now - th e self-written masterpiece! ❤️ I was 11 when debut came out and a SWIFTIE was born 💖
DamnI really wanted to see shouldve said no, that song is so good
Your reaction to the best songs we're not recorded 😭😭😭
