I knew Taylor would postpone her show tonight. This entire situation is heartbreaking. Condolences to the family of Ana.

People need to understand that this was highest heat index in recorded history in Brazil. It’s early spring in Brazil. It’s insane and freak thing. I’m amazed that more people weren’t seriously hurt being out for 8+ hours in that heat.

Taylor made the right decision. I know some fans are disappointed because they had to travel and it’s a lot of money to travel here in Brazil but it’s just impossible to perform on the extreme heat. There’s a video going on online where you can see Taylor having a hard time breathing during the concert
100%. The video is terrifying. The fact that she was able to pull off a 3.5 hour show in this heat is nothing short of incredible but you can tell she really didn't have much steam left towards the end. Even though they want to keep the program consistent at each and every one of these shows, I don't think anybody would protest if she took a couple of five-minute breaks either.

whats terrible is taylor was trying to cancel the show since yesterday but the stadium made her wait till last minute. and i heard people were booing and swearing at taylor bc it was so last minute. It is not Taylors fault. its the stadiums fault

Sorry, but it is her fault too. She is a billionaire and the show, if she doesn't perform there simply isn't one. She could have insisted on breaking the contract if that was the case. The fans got treated very cruelly, since most of them braved the bizarre heat wave (which was predicted more than a week ago) from 11am to have been told at 5:30pm, after all the struggle, that it was for nothing.

She knew the conditions from the day before, she knew Saturday would be worst AND SHE CANCELLED WHEN OVER 90% OF PEOPLE THERE ALREADY SUFFERED THE WORST OF THE HEAT AND WERE INSIDE. It was perfectly possible to avoid that, she didn't. Very bad management on her team's part.

"First come first serve" prevents (or slightly deters) scalpers from buying all the tickets and charging thousands... but then it also causes things like this. Cramped spaces, trampling people, not wanting to leave your spot for water...

They didn't ban water, but I've never seen a stadium in the world thst allows bottles. I drank water the entire night, but it's a security measure to prohibit bottles of any kind in stadiums...

It isn't summer in Brazil yet. It is early spring. This isn't a "normal" heat wave during the summer. This is one the direct consequences of climate change, of which Taylor with her gigantic plateform has never spoken about nor advocated for, and is in fact highly contributing to, much more than you dan me ever will in our lifetime, by taking her private jet every chance she gets.
The passing of this young fan is devastating and my heart goes out to her family and her friends. But Taylor can do much more than that, or paying tribute by singing, she can raise awarness about climate change, that would make a great impact.

It's not that the stadium wouldn't let us have water, we just couldn't bring bottles! Actually, I don't think there's any stadium that allows bottles anywhere! This was such an avoidable loss, I feel so sorry for the girl, her family and friends, and Taylor, she must feel terrible rn...

I don't understand fans not wanting to lose their spot for getting water. Did their tickets not have assigned seats? I'm not sure what a stadium is like in Brasil.
They had GA standing at this show, so it’s first come first served. Not seated. I had floor seats in LA at Sofi, but we didn’t have any GA standing, just seats which made it a lot more comfortable and Ofcourse safer, as you’re not squashed against anyone and have a designated seat 🤍
Stadium concerts in Brazil don't have assigned seats normally - and in the field there is never any seating at all

Now maybe we can use this time as an opportunity to talk about climate change. Now would be a good time for Taylor who has such a big platform to use it to talk about this topic that is already impacting all of us really hard (the Brazilians can very much testify of that). I hope she would do that and talk about that. This is what Olivia Wilde meant when she tweeted something that said she wished she dated a climate scientist.
But since Taylor is using her private jet (and polluting much more than any of us will in their lifetime) like some of us use their car, I highly doubt this would happen. But one can only hope. Meanwhile people are gonna keep dying of heatwave and flooding which are direct consequences of climate change.
It was about time for proper health & safety measures to be put in place. It shocks me that TS decided to perform at the venue where the H&S conditions were so inadequate. She was visibly struggling as well and I am sure so were others performing with her. Hope there won't be any more preventable tragedies like this one. May Ana rest in peace.
