  • Go to 1:40 to skip the freights.
On July 13, 2012 (Friday the 13th) following repairs in Roanoke, SR 630 made a deadhead move south from Bristol to Knoxville. Despite the dreadful weather SMRV was out in Jefferson City and Mascot to catch the train, and I also included clips of two freight trains that rolled by while we were out. Enjoy this short little video and be sure to come back over the next few days as we chase her excursions in Knoxville and her deadhead home to Chattanooga on Monday.
Be sure to watch in 1080p!

This was actually on the south side of Bristol closer to Knoxville the next day. Glad you got to see the 630 run through Virginia and enjoyed the video, thanks!

The passenger excursion ran a week before. Since 630 needed repairs to the axle bearings the S&A heritage unit pulled her train for her.

Haha, I wish. That's just the way to camera captured the rain.

Believe me I was standing out in it, I would've felt it if it were hail. Just heavy rain.
