They have different business within a business. They receive 5k plus from the gov. for each trainee that is if send by the gov, if not 5K plus for the year contract. That is why they continue to hire.
While you are a trainee you are important, when you become a driver you no longer important, time for the next trainee and so on.

Good Morning, Excellent video young man. I’ve been trucking since 96’, with your attitude you will go far in life regardless of your occupation.
You’re probably one of the few, very few modern era drivers who will welcome someone to help them. Most of these guys/gals think they know it all after 5 or 10 years.
I’m still learning and I can learn from everyone including you.
Here’s what I’ll share with you:
- Find something local you’ll make more money and even if you make the same your family is more important young brother. Look at me, I missed everything because of a truck, yes trucking has been good to me financially but again I’ve missed my girls growing up.
- Trucking is NOT what it once was, guys/gals like me are fortunate that we started in a good era of trucking; to me this wouldn’t be worth it if I was younger.
- Sacrifice vs reward vs risk, ask yourself this daily.
Lastly we need trump as a nation or we are in real trouble.
Stay safe and keep your great attitude you will do GREAT in life young brother.

I worked for transformers for 2 years. They are decent company at least when I worked there. I can't speak for now tho bro...the only reason I left was because I brought my own rig...good luck out here my fellow black man

I guess for the hiring it’s about taking more losses this year hiring drivers, so come tax time they’ll get a bigger break. And then they are in the business of selling trucks. Maybe more so than moving freight. I don’t think that they are getting a big cut, but I’m sure there has to be some thing that’s incentivizing filling seats. And then maybe they are predicting things improving towards the fall or winter. Drivers come and go so much, that it’s probably better to never slow down, that way you can always take more freight then say no because you don’t have enough drivers. But that is frustrating when most of your drivers are independent contractors. It just becomes financial stress on them when the work isn’t there. I haven’t seen any of it, though on the intermodal side as a company guy. I’m moving almost 14 hours a day. I’m home daily, but not as much as I’d like. At this point, I really wish I was in a sleeper just so I could get some extra sleep here in there on a break. That’s the challenge with home daily gigs. is it really home daily, or a 14 hour day where you get to come home and sleep in your bed for 6 to 7 hours if you’re lucky. I’m five years into driving and I got to say trucking hasn’t improved in any of that time. It just seems like it’s been one big peak, followed by a giant downturn. Hopefully things improve by next year, but you’re right it’s rough. Right now it’s more than a lifestyle, it’s feaster famine in the wild.
