Perhaps I would agree if it actually worked but every monkey I’ve seen with taped hands goes right back to it as soon as the tape is removed. It most likely fails because it would require a great deal of effort from the pet owner to constantly provide an alternative, such as a pacifier, or smaller more frequent feedings much like they would have with their mother, and to also provide emotional support as it’s a form of self soothing. I don’t see the harpy doing any of the above.
