  • Hey everyone!
I know we're all staying in a little more these days- so to all the baking lovers out there, I thought I'd help you to try something different!
In times like these OF COURSE I don't recommend wasting all your food supplies on trials- but if this is something you've always wanted to learn then I guess there ain't no time like the present!
Quite a bit of fancy equipment is required to make macarons (due to their need for absolute precision) and that's one reason new bakers may find them difficult. There are unfortunately no substitutes to things like candy thermometers or scales- you've gotta have them to be successful, unfortunately, just like making candy!
I hope these steps work for you- they've always worked well for me! Even if you get a lump here or a lopsided one there, they'll still taste great, so don't be hard on yourself :)
    xo

Good morning, just found your channel 😊 I’m still tackling semi hollow shells 😢 every video I watch on making Macarons never show or explain that when you are sifting, the almond flour, and the powdered sugar, when you dump out the too large of pieces, and then sift again, and I’m assuming you’re also dumping out the large pieces again. Now the measurement is way off, and how, if at all, do you compensate?
And could that be the reason why I continue to get a little bit of hollow shells? Would it help, if you sift the almond flour and powdered sugar before you measure, and then measure the absolute precise amount?
To be honest, I have tried that method as well, and I still get a little bit of hollow shells. It’s not so bad, because when I fill the Macarons, and when you eat them, they are absolutely delicious! Macarons have got to be my absolute favorite cookie on this planet 😂 i’ve tried making the Italian method once before, and because I am dealing with really bad arthritis. I kind of gave up on that method, because making the almond paste really hurt my hands… I was going to try making the paste with a hand mixer

Hello Michelle~~your macarons looks yummy and very cute^^ I wonder to know about the macarons's template. Do we need to put off the template/paper before put it in the oven?

Hey girl! Yes! That's a great question. It can definitely (maybe) catch fire as it's only paper so for sure pull out your template before you bake :)
