Kerala does not have madrasa studies like in North India, only religious studies are done in madrasas for 2 hours early in the morning and after that they go to normal school like all other children.

So this is what they teach in madrasa,
First standard - alphabets, grammer like how we learned english in school.
Second year - you start reading arabic, start some small quran surats. Book on origin of islam starting from first man and women.
Third year - there will be more lessons on origin of islam, another book on how to prepare for prayer and how to be clean before prayer, and how to greet others, how to be a good son daughter. Along with this language book will be there which covers more grammer and stuff
Forth year - same stuff little bit stepped up
Fifth year- same stuff and we have to learn whole yaseen, and rules of reading quran like were to stop how to start after stopping all those stuff are given more importance. There will be board exam at this level where they have oral exam for checking how we recite Quran.
If a stranger comes and asks a 7 year guy thats how rural place kids respond. He was shy and probably scared as well and didnt know why someone whole of a sudden stopped and asked this question. Its not a normal thing to be stopped and asked what do you learn in madrasa. Mostly we have these sessions in early morning from 6:30 to 8:30, so we have yo hurry up and reach home and change cloths and go to school. He might be in that rush as well. Only thing that goes in mind is the homework that need to be submitted i school 😅

Mukkood is my village, the second one you were interviewing is a student at PPMHSS kottukkara, a higher secondary school, where I studied. And he was explaining the subjects that were taught at school.

madarsa is an arabic term for SCHOOL. One of the misconception amongst non-Muslims that madarsa dont teach math, science, English etc. In fact before independence, most of the poor people go to madarsa for free elementary classes whether they are hindus, muslims or sikhs.
It's not misconception it's the reality

The dress the kid is wearing is 'Shirt and Mundu' ,the traditional clothing of Kerala in general. Lundi is the patterned mundu that is used inside houses.... will blame Honey singh for that misconception.

Those kods didnt understood what you were asking. Normal madrassas usually teaches religion ,its history and other moral values. As every child goes to school there is no need for additional education otherthan religion in madrassas. Madrassa classes are usually 1 hr which allows students to go to schools as well. Apart from madrassas there are such intitutions where one can learn religion and modern education simulataneously

kerala Madrassas are not like dirty north indian madrassas.. Every muslim kid in kerala go to madrassa for two hours only daily... either at 7-9 morning or 7 -9 evening... After that they go to Regular school.. In Regular School they learn everything including science..
