I can tell you one "trick" to fitting the doors. (They never fitted!)
The door fitter would have used pieces of wood, and a special jack to bend the door or frame to make them fit within tolerance.
If that failed the sheet metal workers would have used "lead loading" to improve the cosmetics.
(I was a Mini track sheet metal worker who built them.)

Good to see you working with your Dad, Matt. Obviously a way of paying him back for probably many years of tutorship when you were younger. Didn't spend enough time with my Dad 'back in the day' a big regret of mine if I am honest. Is your Dad selling his Marcos or does he have a hillclimb or rally event to attend in the future.

Oooh, the dreaded subframe subject, and like yer pops just said if it's done right and thats what i said too. lets face it some guys will build a front subframe from just the mounting hardware out. gosh you n the old fella should have started a car reno business at the rate you guys knock em out.

sorry , still dont have proper camera or mic setup .. end up buying tools and car parts .. must try harder one day , please stick with it
