The cuttlefish cam was so fascinating. Their colour changes are so interesting. And James was an absolute star. First fish of the day, his first cuttlefish, and a great bass. He is turning into a real pro with an awesome teacher 😃

@@TheFishLocker interesting! We have migration of the giant cuttlefish on one part of Australia and it was incredible when they were there in hundreds at the same time!!! You would love fishing in Australia! Come over!!! haha~

I've watched a few of your videos. The big attraction to me is not so much the fishing but the wealth of marine knowledge you share so absorbing. Of course, having James along makes me nostalgic for the time my sons were of that age. Thinking back, having a boy like that justifies a belief in magic the magic of sharing experience and knowledge which is unobtainable elsewhere. James is a bright lad who is picking his dad's knowledge up like a vacuum cleaner. You never know, he may grow up to be a marine biologist.
Sons grow up; what a treasure trove you'll have of memories. Happy days!

Blimey John and James, what a session. Some beautiful bass and epic underwater photography. You must have been really pleased with the way that came out. I am really impressed that James managed to get that bass in the boat...I woulda been pleased with that one AND to gut and fillet his own mackeral, he is already a consumate boat angler - very impressive!

I have only started catching squid in the last year and I'm absolutely thrilled with each one!!! hahah! I have to be careful with the squid ink too! Same with you, yet to catch my first cuttlefish! I take my nephew catching mud crabs and its heaps of fun!

I thank you John, and James, now that is what I call a very good session it was nice of Hannah taking over the filming of the filleting of the fish and I learned so much to pass on to my 2 sons, and my daughter, she never let her brothers forget that every time we went fishing she was the one who always caught the fish first, it is so nice to see young James getting stronger with his rod when he is real ling in the fish and it is a testament to your skill as a teacher that he can pull in his fish first, best wishes to you and your family another great video.

This is actually a comment on the mussel forage video, ( there was no comment section on that video) I really like when you carry your bounty to Jim and you guys cook little feasts and then sit down and chow down. I'm jealous of all the fresh seafood you enjoy but I can get a sense of how good it is as you eat it so thanks for that too. My only fresh gathered seafood is Signal crawfish, which is a major event at our house. Couple three times a summer we go to a lake near here and catch several hundred and have a poker game with a crawfish, mussel , shrimp boil and eat ourselves into a coma. If there's any left over I make seafood omelets the next morning. Makes me hungry just thinking about it. You and Smash fishing are my two favorite CZcamsrs so keep putting them out there and I'll keep watching and drooling.

Man, it's crazy how I stopped watching for a couple months to let some videos pile up to watch on my downtime at work, and I come back and see James' demeanor change like night and day. I told you a while back when you posted that video of him actually enjoying his first lobster that it'd cause a change in him. And now look at him. I'm so proud of both of you man. He's got such a good dad, and I'm so ready to see him really start coming into his own and making his own content going out and grabbing his own stock of scallops, his own lobsters from the holes, and then eventually getting his own boat and fishing just like you. Seriously man, James is so blessed to have you as his father.
He makes us so very proud. I personally am so very proud of his observations and problem solving ability.
