  • Leave My Kitten Alone is a song originally done by Little Willie John. The Beatles recorded it during the sessions for "Beatles for Sale" but chose not to include it on the album. It appears on Anthology 1. Here I have isolated each of the instruments. Drums appear at the beginning, Bass at 3 min, Guitars at 6 min, Piano (Paul overdub) at 9 min, and Vocal (John) at 12 min. You can hear the Anthology 1 complete version at • Leave My Kitten Alone ... . Fans who dislike "Mister Moonlight" question why this song was not included instead. Fortunately, we now have access to both!

Coincidentally, Elvis Costello recorded a cover of "Leave My Kitten Alone" in 1986 during the sessions for Blood & Chocolate. It was left off the original album but included on the album's 2002 reissue. In 1986, he might not have been aware of The Beatles unreleased track as Anthology 1 had not yet been issued.

      Oh, Elvis was aware.

There was a press release that leave my kitten alone was a single cut from Sessions, which was canceled on the verge of release in 1979, so I think Costello knew that there was a cover version of the Beatles.

@@AB-pj4yg @mickcarlon8147 Thanks you guys! I don't know that history. So if it's not a coincidence, it is a case of history repeating itself.

The end result obviously wasn't to their liking or it would've been on the album. Makes you wonder how differently they might have played in the early days.🤔
