It was during COVID time , I was in an isolated room for observation after my c section there was guard sitting outside, I was full on medication and anesthesia but still I couldn't close my eyes and rest. Because in my conscious mind i was not feeling safe, there was no one around. When nurses were coming to check me I was requesting them to take me my room. This is how women lives with so much insecurity😢

As a Dr & woman myself, i was determined not to return to India when Nirbhaya happened, i thought if I do not feel safe in a country, should I be living there? I was younger full of anger at that time. Now as a 40 year old woman, I cried when heard about this case, it gave me sleepless nights. I live abroad but the plight of women in my country hasn't changed one bit , I shudder at thought of what she went through. We need stricter laws, in Singapore a taxi driver wont even touch us ,even if you pass out in taxi drunk. It is safe heaven for women

True.... even I live outside India. I have a teenager . I want her to study here only....first I was thinking of sending her to India for education. Now I am not going to. People in India talk about brain drain....this is also one reason that educated people don't want to come back

ये बात सिर्फ अस्पताल के अधिकार क्षेत्र की नहीं....
ये एक डॉक्टर या नर्स की या अन्य कर्मी के मान सम्मान की नहीं....
ये न्याय और अपने हकों की ललकार, हर उस नारी की है, जो खुले आसमान में निर्भय होके जीना चाहती है,
नाकि निर्भया जैसे उसकी आबरू रौंद दी जाए....
ये देश है वीरांगनाओं का, पावन धरती, जहाँ शक्ति है पूजती....
ये वक़्त है कि, नारी जगा ले अपने अंदर की काली को....
नरसंहार कर दे हर उस ऱाक्षस का, जो उसके आत्म-सम्मान को चूर करने आये....
आज़ाद कर दो पँख हमारे, दे दो अधिकार कि, कर दें संहार सरेआम ऐसे धूर्तों का....
कि फिर कोई निर्भया ना हो.....
गर सिखाना होता मर्दों को तहज़ीब, तो कब कि हर नारी निडर होकर बनाती अपनी शख्सियत....
पर अब और नहीं सहा जाता ये दर्द, ये टीस....
शक्ति हैं हम, देने दो हमें अपनी शक्ति का साक्षात्कार....
ना बाँधों हमें क़ानून के दायरों में, जब दरिंदें करें हम पर प्रहार....
कर दो हमें आज़ाद, दे दो हमें, स्वयं लड़ने का अधिकार।

It all begins at home. We as mothers of boys, we need to teach our boys at a young age to respect girls as equal n that they too are humans. Hello Ma’am glad that u spoke about this topic. I am a doctor too and yesterday only my mom was saying how to send kids on night duty. Has this country really shown independence for girls and women??Earlier also doctors faced violence in hospitals but no body addressed the issue. Our workplace is our second home how to work now..This fight is not only for doctors it is for every single female in this country who wants to feel safe, who work day and night for their family in any profession.
