Well, they were able to salvage pretty much everything they built before. Which is also an evidence of how strong that was.

@@juzoliThey were always the main draw of WTF1. Them leaving and starting their own thing just allowed them to do what they wanted and not be held back by Superiors or what not.
@@066kshitizvsingh4 Exactly. It was a risky move though, as they might’ve lost a lot of fans, and they didn’t know beforehand if we will follow them.
The fact that we did follow them is a proof of what they built before leaving.
Formula-E is very interesting. The problem is that most races are in street circuits and they need to hold the speed due to battery limitations. But the smaller cars with more acceleration than combustion cars (eletric actually has a system to prevent too much accel, because in eletric, it is instantanious) can really turn into something fun, given the right conditions. As it is improving more and more, I see a bright future for the competition. And I hope P1 now starts talking a little bit about it.
FE is the fastest growing Motorsport on the planet and it shows. In Season 1 (2014) the power was 150kw and now with Gen 3 season-9 it’s 350kw. And this is just the start next year season 11 (2025) they will activate the front axle motor bringing AWD for the first time. And with that an extra 50kw on front motor. 400kw total. And going further into Gen 4 in 2027. The power will be 350 rear and 250kw front. (600kw total) (800horsepower) not far away from F1 power territory. Sure downforce and tyres is important too but it’s a start.
Let's not forget the switching of cars halfway through the race because the battery was dead to now limiting the amount of kW they can use during a race/ Give it a few more years and the battery tech is good enough to unlock even more potential in race distance. The only thing I dislike are the Mario Kart style powerups. It takes away from how serious the racing is. Yes it is possible with these cars but that doesn't mean it should be used.@@jesperhammarlund300
one note, most of the races have limited power budget (london finale was at around 50%) due to battery saving making the strategy and overtakinng happen
@@jesperhammarlund300, I think the focus on power is less important than improving endurance and power to weight ratio. While the gen 3s have gotten a tad lighter, we all know that they could be substantially lighter had the power targets not been what they are.
@@flyingphoenix113 I think they will keep getting lighter and more powerful over time. I don't expect them to be able to be as light as F1 might be able achieve dry but I won't be surprised if by 2035 or something around that time, they're more powerful. The fact that the power trains are already capable of a 600KW peak output and we're only on Gen 3, by Gen 4 that may well be a running output with an even higher peak.
Although I don't expect F1 to be stagnant either so who knows, I also wonder how they plan to decrease weight when they will feel the demand for more electrification in the future.
I remember seeing Matt drive the F1 car a few years ago, now Matt and Tommy drive the Formula E car, pretty awesome to watch, nice job!
And we can be confident Tommy is no longer wondering why they call it 'snap oversteer'. Held it though, so good on him.

I am loving these GEN 3 cars. Sounds awesome. Looks fine.
Nice. I had the luck of driving around Zandvoort in a Porsche, a Mercedes AMG and a McLaren. It was crazy, great, but also very demanding. I was broken driving just 10 laps, when driving the Mercedes AMG, the seat broke of the rails in the first banked corner after the pit. So i swapped to the McLaren to finish that stint. I could have driven a other 5 laps after that with the AMG, but my back was killing me even if we didn’t go flat out. We had to follow a instructor like you did, but even then my head felt like it was about to fall off.
Tommy's sideways action was definitely the highlight though it was done out of ignorance-"didn't know that was going to happen", lol!

Assuming the impressive brakes are mostly from the motor switching to re-gen mode (engine breaking) must have some clever systems to stop the rear wheels locking.
You both did great! Matt for quali and Tommo for race craft. Most importantly I'm sure Frank will approve after he watches it.
This isn't the fastest accelerating single-seater though. A Formula student car from ETH Zürich is the fastest accelerating single-seater with a time of 0.956s 0-100kph

I've been watching FE since race 1 season 1 and it's just going from strength to strength. Honestly, after watching F1 2009 to 2023 I'm done, I'm not interested in F1 2024. But I am really excited for FE 2024. Really enjoy you guys so am hopeful for more FE content!!
