Precision Rifle .22LR World Championship in Italy

- Follow my journey as I shoot the inaugural IPRF (International Precision Rifle Federation) Precision Rifle .22LR World Championships in Collazzone, Italy. This was a 7 day event, with 4 days of competition. 19 countries were present, and a total of 180 shooters competed. Shooters were competing in 5 divisions: Open, Factory, Youth, Senior, and Ladies. Match location was at the TAV Piancardato shooting club, with stunning views of the Perugia region in the hills.

Very nice report and shot and edited with a lot of effort! I can judge that because I do it regularly and know how much extra work it is to shoot and make videos at the same time. My scope died on first day of competition. John was nearby and noticed my problems.
What he did next, was unbelievably amazing.
As a prime example of sportmanship and comeradery
he lend me his spare Element Theos, so I could finish my second day of competition!!!

Great Videos Matt, enjoy every one of them, you've certainly improved yourself in the last 18 months, congratulations you have earned this win, inspired many new NRL shooters here downunder ozzi. Matt I wonder could you do a Video on what ballistic app you use and how you go about your ballistic range calculations from start to finish, how to set up for new stage stages in a competition, dope card etc. This would be very helpful for many new starters in .22 NRL & PRS style of matches. And do you check shoot each distance or do you rely on your Ballistic app? Thanks again for your informative match videos.

I finally got around to watching this earlier today uninterrupted. 3:09 had me chuckling. What was the European contingency running for actions? It looked like a lot of CZ or maybe Anschutz (or some other actions with 22LR length magazines).
Tons of bergaras and CZ, but the really high end one I saw a couple times was a Sauer 3000 action in the rimfire configuration. I had to ask another shooter what the rifle was because I had never seen it. Apparently they’re very nice and function extremely well.
How does someone get involved in this completion? What organization, what kind of rifle? Thank you.
Did the targets seems smaller than normal competitions? Or does it seem that way. On stage D how big were the targets?

11:20 holy cow. Is she running super high velocity Ammo or is it from the water? At first I thought a rifle went off the same time.
So where did you end up in the standings? Only timing out on one stage is pretty dang good! 12 shots, 90 seconds, multiple positions… I think I may have only been able to complete one stage.
Finished 13th open division. Yes the par time was definitely a large factor and executing stages with limited time changed how many shooters would have normally approached certain stages
@@Womfat great job!!! Look how far you’ve come since you started. I remember when you started doing this on CZcams and you were good but not making top finishes at the Canadian matches. Now you’re 13th in the world!
On an aside, given the airline restrictions I wonder how Chris is gonna get that monster trophy home. I was hoping you’d win the side match and then have a video explaining how you were going to get that meat home.

What gun and scope are you using?
Very curious on the factory class rules thise rifles looked like they were open class guns with stainless non OEM barrels?
The factory division rules are much different than normal production division. There’s no price point limit, they just have to be a “factory rifle”, and on the IPRF approved list. Some very high-end Victrix, Anschutz, and MPA rifles made the approved list because all the parts are made in house. But they’re just as capable as some open rigs. Also no limits on optics, you can run a ZCO. Weird…

All shooter from USA and Canada are vergleichen good.
Ok you can trained in your privat Area or you have Gun Ranges.
Here in Germany we have only 2 or 3 places with a 300m range.
I drive many Times to france because the can also trained at there privat Area.
But i wish i had more Range time with longer distance.
Same laws here in spain, no ranges to shoot but we are just training now with PCP rifles
It's not so much easier here! Only 2 places with 300m,and you can only shoot paper and then walk back and forth looking at your groups.

Lucky you where in Italy with 1h30 lunch time. If you where in France, it would have been 2h, and if you where in Spain, the siesta would have been mandatory lol

All,of these competitions are unfair. The ones that can afford the best equipment usually win. All shooters should use the exact same rifle brand weapon with the exact same scope then it would be fair. 😂
