    Like the choice of all black and how you dyed the fabric to match! I am selecting my first rigid chair, and your advice to get an adjustable chair is good, then can buy lighter one in due time when right set of measurements is determined. If one has a progressive condition or still growing body, some adjustability may be needed to accommodate.

    I've got Revolution Pluses on my chair, too. I found the Right Run tyres lacked grip on gradients. My Quickie Neon is my first privately-owned wheelchair after over 40 years of pushing National Health Service "crates". This is the first chair I've felt really proud to use.

    awesome man, pretty much got the same set up, except Ive got a roho which I love. Totally believe that its not until you get in the chair for a bit know what you like, thats when you tweak it. One other thing that ive found helpful is that I got some grip tape and put it on the foot rest as it keeps your feet from bouncing around.

    I have two different Roho cushions, one that has like an air lock that allows the air to be like higher in one area. I love them. I also have a Roho low profile cushion, but my therapist doesnt like them, she says its not as good for your rear. I find I slide on it more anyway. I should be getting my Ti Lite this week and Im REALLY EXCITED. I also am looking for a place to get tested on the menox hand controls. Im real lucky I saw yours because I am WAY NOT comfortable with the push/rock..

  • @wbmack10
    @wbmack10 Před 11 lety

    You mentioned your j2 cushion- In my experience they perform much better than an air filled Roho cushion. After suffering a few years of slow air leaks with Roho style cushions I switched to the gel filled J2 which I've been using for 9-10 years. The gel does eventually deteriorate but it seems to take about 6-7 years & when you compare that to a multi-celled Roho, with plenty of seams where leaks start, the gel filled cushions give you more value. I had a Roho that leaked right out of the box.

    Were the flip down handles an option or did you after market those? That is the best idea - I hate being treated like a toddler in a stroller by well meaning people, but I have not gotten strong enough to push myself around for that long, or to get up steep inclines so I need the handles sometimes. The best Chair I have ever owned and that notwithstanding how heavy it is (Yes it's still going) is the Quickie Revolution as it folds down front and back and sits beside me on the passenger seat(breaks down like a child's Buggy) Sadly SunRise has discontinued it and not planning anything like it in a lighter weight. The Brakes on the TiLite have given up for the second time last week. Definitely the Worst Wheelchair I have had the misfortune to own. Oh in the British Isles we pay in £s what most people pay in dollars and quite often More. Your comment ref the Gel the Jay11 is simply the best you could ever have if you wish to avoid Pressure sores. Just don't put Keys in the back pocket of your trousers. I have been using Jay11 Gel Cushions and they are By a long shot the best around. Just remember that when you wash the cushion cover to put it inside a laundry bag as the Zips are the weakest part. Best of luck and Stay on top of your drive forwards. Warmly Aindre

If I were you I would not order a chair alone. Look for a good physical therapist that understands wheelchair fitment to help you decide what measurements to choose.

      Yes, I upgraded to the non adjustable version of this chair called the TiLite ZR. I kept many of the same dimensions but having the adjustable version first allowed me to play with different seat angles.(aka "Dump") My new chair has a plastic foot plate with curved sides which eliminates the need for a calf strap and keeps my feet in place. I also have a carbon fiber backrest which is really light. I sit on a ROHO Hybrid Elite cushion and really like it. Check out this video. Knock on wood but the only pressure sore I’ve had so far developed when I was an inpatient from sitting in a hospital bed. Luckily, it cleared up when I got out and became more active at home. I’m very paranoid about getting them so I try my best to be aware of what I’m sitting on and for how long.

      +Paralyzed Living Now you have had this chair for 5 years or close to it, would you recommend this chair or brand? It looks like putting the brakes on would be a bit of an awe-quid angle?
