I think what translates so well, is after David climbs on top of her she gets to release all that rage, anger and fear. It was very powerful but also really sad because you see all her innocence leave her. I do appreciate that the writing lent to her getting to save herself. Sheâs relied so heavily on Joel, but he canât always be there to keep her safe. I like that he was there in the end to comfort her after such truamatic experience.
Bella Ramsayâs acting this episode is amazing. Canât wait to see where sheâs at in 5-10 years I can only imagine sheâs just gonna get better and better.

It was such a sweet scene honestly. Poor girl was horrified.
That wasn't just a hug that was a hold. A fatherly hold.
Bella portrayed Ellieâs trauma response so beautifully (the blank stare, wide eyes, disassociation, and shock). Their screams were so real and visceral. Bella said she thinks that Ellie is not only traumatized but what David almost did to her, but sheâs also terrified of herself, and that sheâs capable of that level of violence. She definitely took out all of her pent up anger and pain in that moment, and while it may have been cathartic, it was devastating to watch. And Pedro delivered Joelâs lines with such a softness and comfort to them. They both deserve all the awards!
Iâve never personally experienced SA, but Iâve heard from many who have who said that final scene was deeply moving to them. Joel doesnât even know the context of what happened to her, yet he can tell this spunky, sassy teenage girl is terrified and traumatized. He doesnât ask her what happened, he just holds her tight and tells her sheâs safe. Whenever someone has been traumatized, the immediate response should just be to BE THERE for them, however they need you to be. I think up until this point, Ellie hasnât really been allowed to be a kid or be seen as one-weâve only seen her as this sassy 14-year-old. But this was a devastating reminder that she can be that while also, at the end of the day, be a terrified little girl. That scene broke my heart. Excellent performances by everyone involved! đ
I canât begin to describe how amazing Bellaâs acting is.. the terrified wails when David was on top of her were actually too realistic, and when she was struggling to grab the cleaver the terrified wails turned desperate as if impatient she couldnât grab the weapon quickly enough to stop what was about to happen!
She is just a little girl and also a sassy badass depending on the situation, a multi-layered complex character and thatâs why sheâs impossible not to adore.
Incredible acting but so disturbing. Poor Ellie- I feel so bad for her. I donât want it to end..canât believe thereâs only one episode left!
James is played by Troy Baker who was Joel in the game. Also that Bible verse was said by the priest in Titanic

Jake (The blonde guy that hated Ellie the most) is Troy Baker, he was the voice actor for Joel in the video games. So its ironic that Ellie stabs him in the neck

And to be fair to the character if he knew the guy was gonna r word her it makes him wanting to kill her more humane, he even said we can just let her go before.

Nice reaction. It is interesting to watch how people keep underestimating Ellie because she is a short woman, treating her as a child is always a mistake for them.
These 2 actors, Bella Ramsey and Pedro Pascal, have been terrific in everything I have seen them do. Both of them were in Game of Thrones separately but their 2 characters were fan favorites.
They were talking about this episode with the 2 show runners and Bella shared that she had not done the killing David scene before she did the reunite with Joel scene and Pedro was very impressed watch below.
