Markus is my Go-To person for the most accurate, no non-sense, and non commercial advice on filmmaking gear and techniques!! Love you Markus!!!
The number one place to find videos you don't need but have to watch😂👍
@@LeopoldElwes or you didn’t know you needed! I’ve learned a lot from his quest for the smallest tripod, stand, light, and camera!
This is just incredible. I would have never known that these products existed without this channel.
bro already reached the enlightenment where he doesnt even care how advanced the camera technology is. at this point he's only care how can he can bring ultralight setup to travel. he pushed the weight limits of the modern equipment because he has a lot of history about his career so everyone can learn from his experience how to be a minimalist photographer but still can produce a stunning result. with the ideology like this, he will bring more people's to world of photography
You have some of the most useful videos in this niche, I think. Seeing how all these products compare to one another is much more useful than a simple unboxing video, or review, with charts and diagrams comparing the other products.
I get right to the practical stuff
It's always so amusing to see Markus getting really enthusiastic about poles/tubes/stands :-)
Appreciate your work Markus!
Mark, let me say that your work, ideas, and suggestions does not go in vain. I love your videos! They inspire and give me many thoughts on the creation of new photography ideas. You are a blessing man to the utmost. Thank you.
Fantastic. The possibilities are almost endless. Something for every need and situation. Wow. Thank you, Markus, for this rundown.
An "out-standing" video. Lots of usable information. Helps us know the various options. And, I really appreciate how you look for inexpensive stuff too.
The amount of information you fit into an entertaining 22 minutes is astounding. THANK YOU!!!
Fabulous video, I am absolutely floored that you have such curiosities about the functionality (in addition to the features) of different photo gear. So helpful!!
I love the excitement in your face and your voice!! Just brings so much happiness! Thank you! Love the info too!
Im really glad i found you and your forest of light stands. You always inspire me to keep it simple and DIY what ya can.
I love your passion! You're very genuine. Thank you for sharing your research on gears other than cameras and lenses with us!
What an incredible selection of options out there. It is nice to see the variations and some of the DIY twists thrown in to make things work better and together. Thanks Markus for your sweat equity in all the videos. Special shout to Cara who brings you on the screen in a superb fashion. Cheers. - Jim
FINALLY! this is my struggle when traveling and wanted to take good photos! Markus! You'll be my go to person guru for portability travel photographer! THIS CONTENT IS GOLD!

Great video! Thanks a lot for all the helpful recommendations you share in your videos!
I love how passionate you are about light stands and I think I'll get one for traveling. great video
Just finished this and i definitely found some im going to buy for my next trips! i also love how you edit your videos and get straight to the point and dont have a lot of useless banter like some of the other review videos where people love hearing themselves talk 😅
I stumbled into your video and LOVE LOVE THIS!!! I’m also obsessed with these ounces and weights for traveling and thanks for creating this! I enjoy this so so much!
Thank you Markus!
Thank you for this important and valuable information about how to choose compact light equipment! Just what i needed 😃
Another awesome roundup. Such practical info. Thanks!
Thanks Markus! I’ve been shopping for light stands and my head was beginning to spin. Your timing for this video was perfect.
this video answered all my questions. great stuff man
This is superb, love the energy and enthusiasm, given me a few ideas to play with and look at.
Mad respect for this vid. THANK YOU
I always learn something from your videos, Markus. Love the gooseneck ideas.
Thanks for doing all the research. This is really useful
I have been looking for the right travel stand for months! Thanks! for all the options and the passion !
Marcus is the world’s greatest guru of light stands. Very informative video.
I do enjoy it as much as you do thank you so so much
This is amazing! Thanks so much!
Thanks Markus. You’ve given a whole lot of ideas. Lightweight is the way to go.
Mr P.....
I travel quite a bit for work and to quote other viewers you are my Go-to for "all things common sense". Great tips. Thanks!
Holy crap, you’re dedicated to thoroughly covering each possibility is amazing. Thank you for putting it together to share. I was using a flash bracket to hold a double flash for a compact little one small bag kit because the stands tend to be bulkier. My compact stands weren’t quite tall enough but this has some amazing work around for every scenario between the rigid extenders, the ones that bend. Between this and the info on the light output of the AD100s, it will make for an excellent little travel light kit I can fit in a tiny bag like a tripod bag to throw in with me just in case. I’m thinking two stands, 2 or 3 AD100s and the trigger in a little 15” cylindrical bag. Appreciate the enthusiasm to discover and share!
the prefect comparison video!
Thx!
It is fantastic to see such enthusiasm about photography coming from somebody already so knowledgeable. And such will to share...
Really the type of guy anybody would like to have some beers with.
You're a happy man. Thank you.
You deserve 1M views just on this video!! Thanks so so much Markus
haha i love your videos! i am also obsessed with trying to figure out the most compact traveling kits and i love this!
Love the light stand forest you’re growing.
what a great channel tons of information thanks markus
Fantastic info! Thank you.
I love your style man. I’m also get hyper focused on perfecting things that don’t really need it. Thanks for shopping for all this stuff. Your videos are unlike any other product videos out there.
Thanks! It's fun
So cool. Thank you!!!!
such a great video!! thank you!
Thank you for sharing your insights. I was putting together a selfie stick and a tripod base combo myself and seeing these combinations laid out next to each other and compared was extremely helpful
We think alike
Thank you for investing so much money and time for just trying it out and then shareing it with us!
My pleasure!
Such a great video!!! Never gave the extension sticks a thought for my small light stands!!! Thanks!
This is great because I usually find myself relying only on natural lighting exactly because lugging around supplementary lighting seems such a hassle. Thanks for helping to mitigate this problem!
It ain't a hassle if you're a professional, it's a necessity to bring lights and it is what differentiates you from an amateur. Professionals don't rely on the luck of DJ lights or good natural light.
@papsny Are you sure about that? My Grandfather's a professional photographer and is about as old-school as it gets, and he's constantly using natural light whenever he can specifically because he hates hulling around giant heavy lights. I've learned from both him AND Markus that you don't need a million dollars worth of giant equipment to be "professional." The difference between an amateur and professional is experience, which can result in better pictures on its own. If you feel like you need a bunch of accessories in order to be "professional," then you're clearly trying too hard to look cool.
this is awesome, thank you!!
super informative, thank you! 😊
Great practical and reasonable tricks/tips as always! So many tutorials on CZcams assume you have a crew to lug your gear- most of our don't!!
Hey Markus. Loved this video! Really like those goosenecks. I can use those with my product photography!
One of my favorite videos you’ve made yet!
Thank you. It's been half a year in the making!
Thanks again for another great comparison video.
Marcus is my hero on camera gear. Love this guy.
big love from Amsterdam Holland. Thank you for amazing information.
very useful video , thank you so much
You’re great Marcus! I appreciate your channel.
I appreciate that!
thank you for your research!!!
This is great… I was just thinking about light stands for travel and how it’s gonna suck to bring two manfrottos. Well done.
Out of this world detail. Amazing
Great market analysis!
The 11" Gooseneck slip-on is a game changer for me, Thanks!!
Markus' excitement is half of the entertainment of this video.
Just a man and his light stands... this is great stuff 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Love the camera bag
This was great - man knows his stands. Cheers!
That’s a nice set up for compact solutions! Easy to take anywhere
Exactly what I needed, just saved me a bunch of money. Thanks for the video, and for buying all of these to compare.
I was just wondering if you could use one as a tripod, and you just answered my question at the end!
Great Video!!
I do a lot of interviews in Germany, Austria and Switzerland and always travel back and forth by train. Carrying at least 2 Lightstands including the lights, cameras and tripods just by myself has been a pain.
I will definitely give this method a try and see if it can hold my lights!
Dankeschön Markus!
Great thank you.
Thanks so much Marcus I'm looking to buy my first set of light stands and you gave me some great knowledge thank you sir
Remember these are super lightweight flimsy travel stands, not for everyday home use. But the Impact LS-6 or LS-8 are great for all around use
Great video!
My studio gonna look like that too with the jungle of light stands because of you 😆
I love your content. We are kindred spirits. I obsess over finding unique, cheap, ans small solutions to things. My first video was about modifying cheap collapsing selfie tripods with with M to M 1/4-20 adapters so they would hold my LED lights and other miscellaneous gear. Photography is an expensive hobby but I try to help folks understand it doesn't have to be, and that creativity can overcome budget or other logistic hurdles. Keep doing what you do!
You've just gave me an idea of mounting my small Amaran AL-H198 from Aperture, using a tripod head, now I'm able to tilt it to any angle, such as 45
Got some great ideas here for light stands. I will be probably buying a couple items based on what I saw here today.
This is really an awesome and unique review! You are the authoritative source for light stands! Thanks for amazing content, info and advice based on personal usage experience 👍 👍
Thanks!
Markus, you are completely nuts and obsessive! Fantastic review and I will certainly look at repurposing selfie sticks and extension rods for traveling light. I think you should contract one of these manufacturers and market your own travel stand. You'll have a winner!
Wow that was a crazy fast 23 minute video. ❤❤❤❤
I have a very similar setup. Great info.
Markus, you're a legend
the level of research always has me back thanks markus!
I'm German, what can I say
Love the new animation. Reminds me of the characters from the Pink Panther cartoons
Thanks!!!
That is one weird looking forest you're standing in.
I do have that bag, 2 in fact. One for my cameras and another for audio gear. Im tempted to get more. Absolutely love them.
Awesome!
Markus for president ❤ this dude so humble God bless my friend
now THAT's my VIDEO :)!!!! I'm an international traveler/videographer
Wow!! How do You keep track of all of these. Amazing, Thank You!!
oh my god.... Markus, you are crazy!
Holy Moly I’ve never seen so many light stands. 😮
You make me want to buy a light stand/selfie-stick-tripod combo. Now for a light, camera and camera bag... 😁
awesome as always! One question what is that bag you're using ?
your the best
