Where did the air which was in the IV Piggyback tube go since you connected the secondary tube to a primary running line, then you did prime the Piggyback?

When she lowered the piggyback the air filter through the line and went up into the primary bag air pocket at the top. Thus clearing the piggyback of air bubbles and keeping all the medication
