Flight Training - making power loops easier

  • More discussion of camera angle this time for freestyle and the power loop. Specifically looking at how the higher camera angle can give you more time and more information to fly a tighter line around an obstacle and allow you to position your quad more accurately. At the end of the video I apply the same knowledge/technique to a racing power loop.

I just love these training videos! Can you please make one on how to do tight slaloms between gates perhaps? I'm fairly confident with u-turns/hairpins, but I really struggle when making tight turns sequentially while having to maintain height at the same time...

I was only teaching someone this a week or so ago. I'll see what I can do.

Wow! I can easily see a popular demand! :)

Very nice Tutorial, i just thinking about:
How useful would it be if the camera is ajustable during flight with a servo.
Imagine if the quad is upside down the gyro tells the servo to tilt 15° more upwards until the Quad has a flat angle to the ground.... ;)

You make it look too easy 😁. I'm still stuck on 30 degrees because anything more is too fast for me when flying close to the ground😞

It will come with time. Higher camera angles tend to result in beginners flying into the ground. I'll do another video on this at some point and how you deal with that.

VelociDrone Yes, I do fly into the ground sometimes at over 40 degrees

It' all to do with learned behavior that you need to break and then it won't happen anymore. Anyhow, I'll exp[lain it in the forthcoming video ;-)

VelociDrone I wish I would've learned with velocidrone and not a tiny whoop. You're right, I picked up a lot of bad habits. I will highly recommend this to anyone wanting to get into the hobby👍👍

Can you assign camera angle up and down in 1 degree increments on to the contoller? Instead of on the keyboard?

    • @Velocidrone
      @Velocidrone  Před 28 dny

if you assign camera angle to an axis on the controller it moves the camera angle at lower increments than 1 degree steps

I’ve got my PC in the basement and 50 ft HDMI running to my living room TV ... rather than running a USB extension, is there a way to connect a Rx to the PC so I can use my Tx without wires?

    Great video as always!
~~How do you change your camera angle so quickly? Using PgUp and PgDown I can only do it step by step, having to let go of the button every time. I assume you assigned an axis to "change angle" in the options menu, but are you using another analogue controller to do it?~~
Edit: czcams.com/video/xLPPih3vTGw/video.html and 5:50 For anybody else looking for it, use a dial if you have one on your tx!

@@Velocidrone Thanks for the reply! Sorry to bother you again, but I have a weird issue now that I'm using more than 7 channels. It seems that the buttons are not being recognised. Windows shows them, but Velocidrone does not let me assign them. It does read them, I can use them to interrupt the 5 second timer when assigning a control, but I can not set them up for them. Two switches I'm using that register as "slider" in the game controller properties work in Velocidrone, but the ones that register as "button" only work in the game controller properties.
