  • Many Toyota trucks and SUVs run out of factory adjustment when you install lift kits. With our patented design, these upper control arms provides an additional +/- 2 degrees of camber and 0 degree to +4 degree of caster change. Built with a sliding and rotating ball joint and new X-Axis Joints(TM), these arms are designed to correct alignment angles while maintaining factory ride quality. The forged steel design is tough enough to race - on or off-road. These remove and replace arms are available in pairs for lifted and stock height vehicles. These arms are for highway and off-road applications.

      Your did not specify your year and model but a 2000 Toyota Tacoma torque specification for the long upper bushing bolt is 87 lb-ft (115Nm). Most of them are the same.

      @@SPCAlignment gx470 ,, That's what my allignment guy said, I myself was looking for the little piece of instruction paper which I lost Right after installation and after searching online I found a copy of the paper instructions supposedly for the gx 470 the torque is 150 lb. You guys should on your website under every product should have documentation links to make it easier for people to find what they need so they don't make mistakes.

      Thanks and isn't that the truth! Having adjustability on both the upper and lower arms allows freedom to move the wheel/tire around but is not available on any OE suspension which can cause issues with a technician who doesn't think outside the box.

    Can you make a video of how one would do a live camber adjustment on the UCA while on the alignment rack? Instead of pulling it off the alignment rack, lift the truck, guessing the adjustment positions and then put it back in the alignment rack to check again.

    I’ve seen some guys run the ‘G’ setting to get more clearance. Any ideas on this? Will the wheel just not return to center as easily on G? What will be the difference between the ‘E’ setting vs ‘G’ setting?

    • @bradychristians748
      @bradychristians748 Před 3 lety

      Edit: I already have cam eliminator plates that will adjust the lower control arm as you described in the Tech Tips. Outboard in the rear, inboard on the front cam plates.

    • @SPCAlignment
      @SPCAlignment  Před 3 lety +3

      The lower adjusters are multiple times more effective at moving the knuckle/wheel/tire forward than the upper ball joint because they are much closer to the center of the hub. Since you have moved the lower adjusters appropriately, then the uppers are used to correct the alignment. The clearance change from moving the upper ball joint is much less because it is acting on the end of the long knuckle extension. If the truck has acceptable caster and drives acceptably, then whatever ball joint setting works is fine, but to go to "G" at the expense of drivability is not wise. Positive caster does help return the steering wheel to center after a turn while also providing high-speed stability and lane holding. A lifted truck with larger tires needs more stability if anything, not less. What we don't want to see is the lower adjusters centered in their range and the ball joints in "G" with the owner thinking they have the best clearance. This situation does not have the best clearance AND it has poor drivability. There are so many variables which make it difficult to say what position the SPC upper ball joint should be in; lift height and frame angle are just two. Position "E" is where most of the trucks SPC sees with 2-3" of lift and the lower adjusters set as yours are. This usually give a little higher caster at very little clearance compromise. We have never used the "G" position here.

      If you are referring to just SPC products and our website price, that price is full retail. In order to not to compete with our many distributors you will normally get a much better price through one them. Please call 800-525-6505 if you are looking for a distributor in your area or online.
