What is the name of the IOS app you're using at the beginning of the video?
Wayne Wayne it’s ForeFlight Mobile-a TRIAL version. Real world general aviation pilots use it as a navigation tool and it’s got a pricy subscription model for it (well over $100/year in some cases iirc it’s $60 for 3 months-no monthly option at all) Avgeeks such as myself use the 30 day trial version and use it on commercial flights. It will ONLY work if you’re next to a window and can get the GPS signal thru to your iPad.
DJRosco82 thanks for the info!
i guess I'm kinda off topic but do anybody know a good place to stream new movies online ?
How do you record the conversation between the pilot and ATC?
very informative and interesting seeing it from an navigator/pilot perspective. thanks for sharing
Amazing thank you so much for this!
I love your commentary! How did you know so much about the weight and airspace?!
I’ve been an avgeek and a flight simmer for many many years. I stopped up to talk to the pilots and they gave me all the info I needed to take a note in my iPhone with v speeds, takeoff and landing weights etc etc. The airspace is fairly simple in Hawaii-on the west coast arrivals, they generally give direct>BAMBO, cross BAMBO @ 10K-then as you cross the coastline they’ll give you a descent to 8K->*6K->3K (and potentially 2500’->2K if you’re on the visual) They keep you high as you cross the departure end of 08R for the departures which have initial climbs to 5K’ They’ll either turn you base to final either just before the shoreline (as in this video) OR out off the west coast of Oahu to make landfall over Ko’Olina/Barbers Point as you see in my other PHNL landing videos.
Amazing video 📹 👏 ❤ 👌
I like this song
Nice job I wish I can go.
9:38 Towards the top , you can see the Hawaii State Capitol Building. Great view!
How did you know what gate you were at before you landed
All it takes is money!
Or miles for upgrades 😎
The narrative is a bit cringe
Funny you’re the only one that said that for the past 3 years 😏
Oh well, your rad alt calls need more practice. They’re a bit off 😊
@@jamesb2822 going with the GPS altitude on the ForeFlight bud. Best I can do 😝
@@jamesb2822 also until Airbus begins installing Rad alts with Boston accents 🤷♂️ 😉
@@FBWFTWI’ll have a chat with them, I’d quite like the option of choosing rad alt accents on the A330-300/900s that I fly 😅
