- Working with down feathers can be a nightmare. If you attempt to do it by hand then you will be picking feathers off of everything until the end of time (seriously...) I'll show you how I learned how to stuff a pillow with down feathers in a much more oddly satisfying way... with a feather bazooka!

I used a shop vac. I placed my feather bag inside the shop vac reservoir taped the opening to the inside hose hole so the feathers wouldn't fly all inside the reservoir, then I set the vac in reverse and boy oh boy, prepare yourself... super fast, clean and pretty cool.
Oh my gosh!! Thank YOU SO MUCH ❤! I was trying to figure out how to do fill my smaller throw pillows with feathers but didn’t “get it”. I didn’t even know that ticking fabric was specifically for down filling. Thank you thank you thank you!! You have solved my down pillow sewing crisis. I use a electric leaf blower with a suction tube that came with the blower. I run the blower at a very low speed using a variable voltage input to the blower. The impellor fluffs up the goose down as it goes through it.
How did you attach the pillow case to the blower? I don't have a variable voltage input, but the tool has high and low speeds

I noticed you did not sew channels into your cushion insert....I was going to try to sew an insert with the channeling but if it will work without that will be much easier...thanks for the bazooka tip!

I recently bought my mom a silk duvet comforter it's a full size and it was empty so I bought 5 pound's of goose down feather's so my question is do you think that will be enough??

Poor animals! That was a lot of 🦢 feathers . I didn’t know how these poor birds had to suffer just for our pleasure :( . I guess you all should watch where it comes from before buying or doing this.
The majority are from birds used for food - so feather removal happens when they're dead or from natural molting. RDS certification (humanely raised and processed) is quickly becoming the norm. But beware of products from China - still some highly questionable practices there.
@@karijaneify There is plenty of evidence that the assurance and certification for ethically harvested feather and down is nothing more than misleading advertising. If they're not live plucked (and most still are) then they are brutalised and slaughtered to comply with the certification. If there's any doubt about any claim for any product, have a look at who's making it, follow the money....
