Definitely one of the great songs of the era, that still proves its excellence today. It belongs alongside some of the other greats like _Kashmir, Child in Time, Holy Wars, Hallowed be Thy Name,_ and _War Pigs._
Nice. Keep going on your reaction on Blackmore's music. Try Rainbow Mistreated live version.
For this song they used some orchestra musicians, you can hear it at the end.
Munich Philharmonic Orchestra
A great Rock Opera 🔥
Yes, indeed I think with this song and the live version of catch the rainbow on the live album, Richie re-manifested his already great reputation as one of rockguitars greatest players. Well earned! What made me wonder and took me by surprise, Ronnie James Dio hated and completely despised the album. There is an interview on youtube with him sitting in a bus after a concert, talking to a journalist and rating his past works. He was quite sarcastic about it, calling it "Richies work, not "ours" ....so sad the two of them had fallen out.
BTW the second part of this epic song called Light in the black. Check out out too.
Rainbow, like Deep Purple .... Richie Blackmore, the perfectionist, the band lineups and vocalist changed after a few albums. Another Dio vocal with Rainbow which has a more straight ahead feel is Killer The King, Long Live Rock and Roll or Man on a Silver Mountain.
Rainbow with Joe Lynn Turner had more radio play, songs weren't long, like Dio era. Stone Cold. I Surrender. Since You've Been Gone.
Light in black, kill the king, tarot woman, catch the rainbow, man on the silver mountain from live in Munich, gate's of Babylon, twenty sentury Greensleeves from live in Munich, mistreated from live in Munich is one of the greatest live performances of Ronnie James Dio,and dont forget mr octopus at drums cozy Powell
Great One! Welcome to the most iconic Rainbow band and rock 0pera. Dio and Blackmore are pure talent. Pure fire 🎸🔥🤘🏻💜
Gooday Wally. Thank you and i knew would be enjoying this song. This is one of best songs all time in hard rock history in my opinion. Blackmore is the leader of the band and Dio was also initial member of Rainbow (1975 - 1978 first 3 albums ) and this is my favorite era. I think you would be enjoying all songs from Rainbow rising album (second album has this song) cos it is one of very important albums all time. Also, it is worth checking out few songs from Long Live Rock'n Roll album (Kill the King, Gates of Babylon). Also, if you like Dio, better check out the first two albums by Dio (Holy Diver and The Last in Line). Please check out A light in the black next (Rainbow Rising album) and Kill the king.
LOL I thought it sounded a bit slow... like 5 or so BPM. It was enough to trigger my OCD about studio versions vs live versions and the differences between them. I was going to check the pacing vs the studio version after watching this. Thank you for acknowledging the slowdown in the video.. saved me the time LOL.
Hey Wally something was wrong with the version you listen to, it seemed like it was slow. The normal version is a little faster than this, this version seemed to be running at about 80% normal speed
Way slow
Top top top rainbow deep purple number one 🎸
Stargazer is one of the best songs ever. Richie Blackmore (lead guitar), Ronnie James Dio (vocals), Cozy Powell (drums), Jimmy Bain (bass) and Tony Carey (keyboard). Awesome group with a bunch of different lineups. Great catalog of songs. You need to check out the live 1977 Munich concert .... fantastic performances with the songs "Mistreated", 'Catch the Rainbow", 16th Century Greensleeves", "Kill the King", "Man on the Silver Mountain", "Long Live Rock & Roll", and "I'm Still Sad". You will not be dissapointed.
Thanks a lot Adam ! I was blown away by that song !!
Rainbow - Mistreated (Live in Munich 1977) is epic !
Awesome! Salutations from Argentina and Uruguay. Great reaction dude! Try an 80's gem from them, Street of Dreams.😆
I was one of the people who requested this, other great Rainbow songs include The Man on the Silver Mountain, Kill the King, Death Alley Driver and Can’t Happen Here
I suggest black masquerade live DVD 1995 with a stunning Blackmore solo. Same for Temple of king from the same Rainbow DVD.
Excelente tema! Excelente reacción!! 🤘😎
Check out Rainbow - Gates of Babylon if you want another gem.
I love this song. I don’t know if you are using a turntable or CD, but the song sounds a little slow. A little dragged out. It sounds better at normal speed....
Little slower version .
Hey Wally, i wanna ask you something! Is the black & white picture behind you a pic of an Italy's city? Please...if yes, can you tell me which city is ???
Hey Giorgio ! You have a good eye !! It's one on my favorite city in all the world ! San Gimignano ! In Toscana.
@@wallyscrib6282 I know it... Good choice, a nice place to visit and to live
Kashmir came out in 1975 and thia came out 1976. Blackmore apparently made this song trying to show that he can make a better song in the same kind of epic genre.
A Light in the Black is supposed to be listened to after this. It is the epic story continued.
There is no evidence that Ritchie was wanted to make song alike kashmir song, also they aren't the same at all. Very different chord progressions, Stargazer is more powerful and melodic, the solo part is most original than it was at that era. And Page used drop D turning. Completely two different song. Also Ritchie did eastern sound scales before Page, listen some early Purple stuff of his improvisations in concerts he often use arabic scale.
Slow trakc
