A quick answer: *branding is for the long term and a deeper relationship with people
*just the music will make you a (with a tons of luck) one hit wonder or a year max of listeners
Years of music listeners can make you multi million. That's the whole point of music business.
I disagree with not paying attention to the name. Having a stupid name and having a non-notable name are two very different things. Arctic Monkeys maybe a stupid name but it's a name that stands out. On the other hand if you have a really boring name or a super complicated name that people can't even remember that's gonna work against you. Your name is something that will build your image alongside your branding. At the same time your name should go at least partially hand in hand with your branding. Your name will stay with you throughout your long tiring career. One day you will be reduced down to that one name. So if you're picking a stage name, I definitely think it should be done wisely.

Amazing tips - keep it up.. I guess constant interaction with followers goes a long way.. I've seen some decent following growth over the past year.. in a local industry where musicians are generally seen very stuck up and too far out of reach.. !!
One question that I did have was.. are there any recommendations on getting bespoke artist masks made like that of Marshmallow? I am a singer (not a DJ) and don't show my face and would like to have a mask designed that would push my personal brand further..

Burstimo, I love this video and I would love to see more of the last scene.
Maybe this ..the music is the draw..the main event...the brand makes the connection more concrete..but I don't think for me the Brand is that important..I think the music should make you unique if the brand adds to that or reinforces it fine but it starts with the music.

Hello, i wanted to ask do i NEED a logo? Is it absolutely necessary for branding?
Because i cant find any place to fit my logo into... My social media pages profile picture shouldn't there be my picture for example?

I tried looking for some major or even not so major artists using logos but they all used professional pictures as their profile pic for everything...

Hi there, no a logo isnt necessary at all. It would be much better for you to get a photo of yourself to use as your profile picture. remember, when it comes to fans, they buy into YOU not your music. Logos are great, but more in the realm of business.
Let your audience see who you are. It doesn't have to look professional, it just has to be authentic. Create a space for your audience to trust you, recognize you. hope this helps. let me know if you need further assistance :)

Ariel Pink just got dropped from his label from showing who he is and talking about his real values. A bit tone deaf of advice given the past month. This is great advice for artists who have values that align with left wing politics though I guess.
