That aria so well known through perfect performances by Callas, Bartoli, many others. And listening Lea I got that such perfection and so warm and sensible voice only appeared when Thereza Berganzs did that. Bravissimo, fantastic !!!

I agree with Aleksandr Ivanov (above). Before hearing Lea sing this aria, I thought Cecilia Bartoli was her best interpreter, even better than Maria callas (of course, this is a matter of taste for Bartoli's mezzo-soprano timbre). Now, however, listening to Lea, I got goosebumps, such was the perfection of the interpretation, particularly in the passage "of the hundred traps". I loved. Cecilia Bartoli now has a worthy competitor.

Metà francese, metà italiana, abbastanza normale per la padronanza della lingua, ma c'è anche il resto che costituisce un insieme molto bello. Una bella sorpresa quando come me, preferisco Lea nel repertorio antico o barocco, la voce stando un po leggera per il bel canto "classico". Mi piacciono particolarmente le note basse (profunde e leggere) che produce in quest'aria. :-)

Aber das mag auch am Fehlen eines Orchester liegen, das ihr mehr Volumen geben könnte, als der Klavierpart es vermag.
She is undeniably excellent both musically and technically, but I fail to see how she is a mezzoo--soprano. Her voice sounds almost too light and high-centered (in the lower and middle voice) to be a light lyric mezzo and mostly sounds like a soprano with a not very high range.
Pour moi, la Callas n'était pas si sublime qu'on dit. Rongée par ses frustrations et autres problèmes intimes, elle n'a jamais pu donner l'âme des pièces; sa personalité était si dominante que c'était Callas, que Callas. Pas de lumière, qu'n ombre sinistre . . .
