It did for me at the colosseum. It was scary
It does yeah but only so far
it can, but the building makes it difficult for it to path find to you. There are multiple of these things and the ones in more open areas actually follow you for quite a distance outside their zone.
I was filled with excitement when I recognized a Gleeok...
That quickly turned to fear

"Oh hey, his mere presence is superheating the air around here to the point where I need protective equipment to not burn to death in seconds just standing near him."

1:06 the gasp when the music started is just so cute.
The first one I came across was the one at the lower corner of the map... THAT one.
He felt almost impossible to beat without spamming keese eyeballs...

@@cantinadudes At first I always just aimed normally too. The Eyeballs just felt like a cheap way to headshot enemies. Until eventually it started to become a chore to headshot every lookout monster at camps in the Depths. So I just went f*** it, and used Keese Eyeballs.
Against THAT Gleeok though, I only really used the Eyeballs to experiment. I just wanted to see how far I could take the fight using them. Even the Royal guard bow only dealt a sliver of health though, and all my bows and weapons broke without me being able to kill it. (Granted, I hadn't even expanded my equipment stash yet.)
Surprisingly, almost every item you can fuse to arrows are astonishingly useful. Puffshrooms makes cleaning out camps a non-issue. Muddle buds are pretty useful against large numbers of enemies, like Boss Bokoblins, when you don't have many weapons to spend.

Im so glad they both brought back Gleeok and turned it into a super boss.
We needed a new "oh shit" enemy above lynels that we aren't used to
Each elemental Gleeok also has an aura that changes its surroundings in a big way. Flame and ice Gleeoks make it super hot/cold so you need good gear/food to not die and thunder Gleeoks seem to conjure up thunderstorms so no metallic gear allowed. They really wanted to make these things intimidating as hell, huh?

Istg every mini-boss in BotW and TotK are terrifying when you first meet them but once you learn how to fight them and deal with their attacks they become much less impressive
I did the exact same thing. I thought I could do the old BotW cheese strat in the colosseum and spam bombs and arrows from the top floor to win during the early game.
And then he flew up.

Even better is once you get one of the element immunity armor set bonuses and think the Gleeok will be easy.
Spoiler: Their elemental attacks do physical damage too.
Better than tanking the full hit.
