Petting an "aggressive" tarantula (Acanthoscurria geniculata)

- DISCLAIMER: This clip should demonstrate that this species is capable of learning that there are things in the world that move or/and live and are still not Acanthoscurria geniculata food. Too often, these gentle giants are just misunderstood and their enormous appetite is confused with aggression. If you try this on a "normal" Genic, I can almost guarantee you will get (mistaken for food and) seriously bitten!
See tarantulas do like human contact after all. She’s one happy girl 😊😊🥰
Wouldn't necessarily say "like". But clearly not aggravated.
It's tolerating it lmao, trust me, they don't enjoy it
I really think they (and a lot of inverts) have way more consciousness than we expect
This is so cute 🥺😭💖💕
Tarantula it's so pure so friendly so beautiful
My A. Geniculata would 100% bite me if i tried this 🤣 very calm tarantula you have there
That's a big boy aww am gonna cry 😢 😭 they grow up so fast lol
It's a female for sure
Stay away from the pointy end😊
That is a handsome boy.
So chill! My A. geniculata Ruby would have my arm off if I did this :P
She’s so sweet
Brazil giant white knee always hungry very rarely turns down food love her
To be fair a strip knee usually is pretty skittish
Madre mía ahora la gente cree que la tarántula es un perro....🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️
No way!! I can't do that on my geniculata coz she's so angry to mee
Thats a big nope from me but keep it up, thats a good looking t
😂😂😂😂 Yes. Cuddle the tarantula 🕷️😜
My geniculata is so small🥺 but very curious, i allways talk to him/her, every time when i go near she/he comes out of burrow to watch what i do 😂 I cant wait to see how she/he starts to act after growing couple inches 😮❤
So cute!
Oo 🤗🥰 baby geniculatas 😊 congatulations! I would need a female Pamphobeteus sp. Platyomma soon, planning to make babies 🤭 And there is coming some Phormingochilus sp. Rufus babies too 🥰 And some geniculatas if the other one is male and the other one is female 🤭 Oh god how i love this hobby! 🤭 there is possibility me to have pterinopelma sazimai slings too, if everything goes well 😊
@@mikethespider8828 These are just so amazing spiders 🥰
😳 I don’t know how you do that lol I would freak. He seems very tame though and like he knows you. How long have you had him? He doesn’t seem aggressive at all lol.
Since his 1st molt, so we DO know each other very well. :) Especially when he is freshly molted and/or hungry, he does give me threat poses when I approach him in a way that he doesn't recognize me. But as soon as he knows it's me, he is completely relaxed (towards the end you can see that the hairs on his abdomen are totally flat, at the slightest excitement they would stand up).
I mean I really wouldn't call it aggressive if you were able to pet it's head
Mine would be digesting my finger. Shes a voracious eater!
so süß 🥺❤️
i had a massive female that hated anything that moved! easily a dinner plate
Why don't you try this in Murinus?
Hi, they are a little too small for being petted like that, but as you can see in my other videos, my OBT's are just as tame, can be handled, hand-fed and live free-roaming. And they can be touched on their carapax, too. In an old video of mine I brush mites off an OBT sling's carapax with a cotton swab: m.czcams.com/video/c3S4ngcBm1k/video.html
OBT:s truly are not that bad what their reputation is.. They just dont tolerate stress very good 😅❤ But yeah, they can be very calm and nice if you dont stress them.
they feel stressed from touching its a wild animal it doesnt understand our sweet stufd
Is clearly isn't feeling stressed lmao
@@butwhyyyyyy looks like it but in reality it could be getting ready to attack.
The tarantula Just sits there calmly and gives no defencive reaction. If you actually stressed this species say goodbye to your fingers😂

There’s a reason people keep spiders as pets
This was not animals for cudling.....😳😳
Then she spins round and bites you 😊
Nice the Brazilian white knees
Is it your pet I need answers
Hi! Yes, he is my pet.
There so cute
❤❤❤❤
Could be about to molt :)
Please, dont call tarantulas aggressive, it gives them more of a bad rep than theyve already got, theyre defensive, through fear but not aggressive.
That's why the word is in quotation marks :)
Aggressive? 😂
What?
Don't turantulas hate being pet?
On their abdomen: Clearly yes, depending on how "tame" they are. At least it's probably unpleasant for them. Every once in a while I still touch their abdomen, just so that they are used to it and don't panic in case of an emergency (molting problem, injury...), certainly not for a longer period of time like in this video.
But on their carapax like in this video: For a "tame" spider like Hansiburli it seems to be neutral or maybe even pleasant! He can't clean himself on this spot, and for most animals, petting these spots feels pleasant. He doesn't show any signs of stress and is very relaxed (an A. geniculata does know perfectly how to defend themselves ;) ), so I don't think that he feels any discomfort, rather the opposite.
@@mikethespider8828 i did not know that
@@cheezysot you didn‘t know that because that‘s literal bullshit from someone who has no idea of the biology of spiders, they don‘t want affection, they don‘t know who you are, it‘s merely tolerating it, that‘s it.
@@derhorror9787 calm down, Jesus Christ.
@@cheezysot nah it‘s just pissing me off when idiots like this keep animals
Geniculata is not Agressive...
No tarantula is aggressive, defensive through fear, but not aggressive

That's not an aggressive tarantula I would love to own one brazilian white knee thay get up to 10 inch leg span
Good decision, I highly recommend them! :)
What is the language, that you speak? You say:" Nårh.." just as we do here in Denmark!🫠🥰❤️
