Pen sharp, ready for art
Dancing in the ink of my heart
Throw me, Iâm your dart
Turn me into the next visual Mozart
Platter and splatter
Feeling like the mad hatter
You look at me like Iâm playing with dark matter
Trusting you to take the lead, through my emotional cadaver
With you by my side, I know Iâll be free
Help me conquer every fear that conquered me
Rustyhound I loved that! Youâre really talented donât stop writing!
@@gia6978 Thank you for your kind and encouraging words! I will keep it up. I just love writing in general so I couldn't stop even if I wanted too, for better or worse. Again thanks!
This is so amazing!đđ
@@lcvelydaph Thank you so much! đ
You are absolutely remarkable! Keep up the good work and I hope you are doing well under these dire circumstances.
Oh my goodness! I know what you mean about saying something that doesnât mean anything but it gets something across. Sometimes, I sit there and think âwhat am I even saying? I donât know, but it feels right.â
Yes exactly! and those phrases usually turn out to be my favorites.
Yes, omg! Know that so well!!

I like your shoes.
I'd love to know
The way you choose
Where to go,
Who to follow
And who you trust.
Wanna adjust
My thoughts, my life
And not to fight.
Do shit for fun
And drive all night.
Tell you I'm fine.
Ur hard to find.
I like your hair.
The way you speak.
And what you wear.
Tell you I care
For me it's rare.
And what I need
Just you to read
my thoughts, indeed.
You won't forget
The night met.
This means a lot.
And I'm about
To start a life
Without lie.

I LOVE THIS!!!!
if a poem was written using contractions as "Wanna Gotta Gonna" immediately i stop reading that trash, and it could be worse if there are words as "shit"... a complete mess
@@fenixproject5554 Iâm not a native speaker and I wrote it for myself, just to express my thoughts
For some reason, the first six lines really stick with me.
This whole video and comments section just has a really chill and peaceful vibe, itâs so nice, especially since Iâm in an oversized sweater, leggings, and sipping peppermint tea. Itâs so nice and chill ;) p.s. I love your editing, itâs simplistic but nice
that's the perfect way to watch :)) and thank you!
I used to love writing stories when I was younger but stopped for years (Iâm 15 now.) Iâve been wanting to get back into it but itâs hard and I donât feel creative anymore. However, I wrote my first poem a couple month ago and I thought it was pretty nice to do and especially since itâs something you can genuinely connect to with real life. Iâm literally the only person in my English class that loves doing poetry and is my favourite lesson, along side history. This has inspired me to get into poetry :)))đâš

âąMountain tops âą
Do you know that feeling? That impression like you could do anything, go anywhere, meet anybody, and talk to anyone. And the feeling of inhaling that bitter breeze while standing on the mountain tops. Observing the beautiful sight. Being more elevated then the treetops. Soaring over all the people who damaged you. And then that feeling of misery and sorrow you felt is all washed away once you felt the breeze against your clothed body once you drop down from the mountain tops. And you comprehend that all of your despair is departed from your mind as you clash with the ground below you. Every little thing is gone. No need to worry about the despair and the misery and the sorrow itâs all gone. The mountain tops are my favourite place. Where beloved things start and things end.
this is beautifull thank you.
Wowww!!!!! Amazing đ
(Not the best but I like love poems)
His smile glows as I hold him close
The melody of my heart bursts into a symphony.
He calls me his
I call him mine.
I say I love him
He says he loves me.
He wraps me in his embrace
Tranquil in the moment.
Sweet silence and peace
As we say goodnight to the stars.
A song of a songbird
The rhythm of our hearts.
The sweet serenade of love
As we keep each other whole.
I'm obsessed with mugs and that one is SO cute!
I have written a lot of poetry in high school and in my first year of university but stopped for no reason. But now you have inspired me to continue. Your poem was so beautiful, I could listen to you reading poems as a relaxing activity every day. :D
Also: Dead Poets' Society is the best movie ever. â„ïž

I'm so excited for your poetry collection! I love hearing about your poetry...

I absolutely loved hearing about your process!! Love the poem you shared (and totally feel you on being nervous). Can't wait to read more of your poetry one day!
Thank you so much! It makes me happy that you like hearing about this :)
this is a lovely video, emma! I love hearing other writers' processes and how their writing happens. Writing is one of my favorite things to do, and I love hearing other people's passion for it as well. much love! xx

Yay! Happy to see this. I don't see many other youtubers talking about poetry writing and how they do it. I've been writing poetry for many years and always life gets in the way and shifts my priorities but im working on getting published and then making a book! Maybe a writing vlog would be fun? Anything else related to poetry i would enjoy as its really inspiring.
You've been such an inspiration to my creative lifestyle recently! Thank you so much! Loved your poem â€ïž

I first started writing poetry when I was 15 in what I call small sparks of consciousness streaming through my soul, during my own relationship experiences. At first it started because of my pain that I gradually learned how to express through my own person experiences of life, which was translated and understood when I learned how to be honest with myself about how I see the world, and not allowing anyone else tell it for me. At first they were just notes, but I put it to the side and let it marinate. As I began to keep writing them and putting them to the side the relationship I had started making sense to me, and as I gradually matured by gradually being intellectually aware of life I started to make sense of the bigger picture of these poems and I ended up telling the future of where I was heading with these works. Now I published i first poem collection which has nothing to do with the original poetry that started it all, but I have another project Iâm working on first before I truly start giving deep with the poetry Iâm writing. The reason I say all this is because I too am a organic poet, and you even mentioning the term âorganicâ sparked this idea to comment all this in the comment section so thank you.
mine doesnt rhyme but i did it about hating your body in the mirror
Glaring into the glass on the wall,
reflecting in it
is the figure, that fills you with despair
Tugging, ripping, at the flesh
that lies appon your bare bones,
shattered shards
of agony, collapsed,
scattered, across the ground,
too delicate to piece back together
pricking your skin with in touch.
vexation creeping towards into your body
she is only imagined,
in films so sweet,
never forgotten,
as she passes on the street.
he writes her a song,
and he think of her as he sleeps,
waiting to meet her in his dreams.
she stands tall,
and her heart beams,
with poise yet without pride,
itâs like she was created,
by Austin or Bronte tied,
she belongs in the louvre museum,
she as beautiful as rome,
and as enticing as greece.
she reminds him of poems,
written by keats,
and yeats,
she can bring the world peace.
with the body of Monroe,
and the face of Hepburn,
sheâs a goddess,
and he knows.
i want to be her,
to make a man love me,
like a Poet imagines love to be.
I adore you! đ This video was so helpful! Thanks for asking and answering all those questions! I think I should get back into writing poems one day.
Emma, you're a lovely person and your poems are as lovely as you. This video might have inspired me to go back to writing. đŒ
Dear Emma, ââthank you for always inspiring me to stay creative and positive. đ
Storms
He was like a storm.
He came into my life quickly.
He brought endless rain and terrorizing winds,
Making everything seem sickly.
But like a storm,
It was calming at the same time,
To know that in the end,
Everything will be left sublime.
And like a storm,
He changed into a hurricane.
Unexpectedly he went out of control,
Bringing with him lots of sorrow and pain.
But I liked the storm.
He reminded me of myself,
With his troubles and rain.
And like a storm, he broke my walls for himself.
I realized that the storm wasnât good for me.
So I asked it to go away
And to take itâs harsh winds with it.
And when he did I realized I wanted it to stay.
But then I saw the stormâs terror all around.
I realized the storm was never good,
I was just too blinded by the beautiful rain
To see the damage did more than it should

I write poetry too though I really haven't written anything new. You are right many of my poems are about my life experiences. When I go back and read them after many years...I find that they are very powerful, strong and inspiring. It is a gift to write, whether it is poems, phrases or quotes. Continue writing and explore your talent. Make your dreams come true, when you write a poem you will discover that even your own poems uplift you. I am just like you always keeping notes and writing things down. I am at my best when I am alone...words and thoughts all come at once and positivity starts to take over. Pursue your dreams shoot for the gift and use it.
Thanks for this vid Emma! I'm trying hard to improve my poetry tips and vids like this and changes like Adam Gary Poetry and Dimitri Reyes are really helping. Thanks for the inspiration! x
i feel like poetry has always been something iâve been interested in and itâs my form of venting. i like writing poetry in my notebooks but i also post it anonymously. i never felt like i could write poetry on the spot and its easier to do it went iâm feeling down or when iâm going through something. writing everything down makes it easier to cope with.
I'm sitting here open mouthed after you read the poem. It is really beautiful, it made me think and really spoke to me! You are so talented, I am in awe!!
Thank you so much for your kind words!!
I started writing poetry as we were studying it at school at the beginning of this year, then a poem came into my mind. I wrote it down, really liked it, tried to write some more and now Iâve written 90 in less than a year and love doing it!
Oh my gosh!! I loved writing poetry because of Taylor too lol đ her impact!

Your process and my process are identical and it's cathartic to hear another person say it out loud
Since everyone else is sharing their poems I might as well share some of mine.:
JUST A NAME
It is so much more than just a name.
It is love.
Love poured onto my tongue.
It is not just a name.
It is desperation.
Desperation to have you near.
Not just a name.
Itâs a keening.
The keening of the soulâs absence from you.
Just a name.
Just the air.
The air I need to breathe.
A name
A call
Allah!
I canât wait to be able to go out again and soak up all the inspiration đ

Taylor Swift is such an inspiration!!!
The train is passing,
Whistling and passing
And calling
For a picture to conjure up
On the mind's plane
With the bogies tumbling,
Slowing down
At the halt
To chug again and to gather speed
To run it all past and left behind.
So much of the way you write is similar to me. My poetry has always been emotion based. I think my best work comes from intense joy or love, or intense pain. On the rare occasion I can write about a nature scene or a flower, but those types of poems lack depth when I write them. I canât write well unless I attach emotions to things. ... I also borrow a lot from lyrics. My current inspirer is Sami Yusuf. His lyrics are so Rumi-esque and lovely. :)
I love your videos! It is so calming when you talk and I relate to you. I loved learning about your writing process because everyoneâs is so unique and I love getting to know everyoneâs quirks!
Your poem was so beautiful!
Iâm also going to Taylor Swift Saturday!!! Maybe Iâll see you? May we both get Rep Room!
I literally feel like i have the same process... i never knew i wrote poems but i was always lyrical with my words... and the first poem i wrote i was 14
just bumped into your video. I am from China, and I write poetry in Chinese. I started writing poetry or what I considered to be poetry when I was 20. I feel like we have a lot in common in terms of how we write and think about poetry, and I want you to know. My English isn't all that good so I might not be able to articulate my feelings, but I think you can get it. ć»ć»ïŒć„œć„œćă
I feel my best poems are the ones that I am inspired to write.
However, as a teaching assistant (elementary or primary school) I started writing poetry to help my pupils appreciate the different ways that a sound could be spelt and also for class projects.
I write at any time of the day or night, depending on when inspiration takes me.
I carry a small notebook in my bag to jot down any inspiration on the fly.
Because I work supply as a TA, I work on poems that I started but that didn't reach fruition if I'm not in school.
I find that it's far harder to record than to write poetry.
I have published some of my recorded work on my CZcams channel.
that was a beautiful poem
one a cold rainy day
you can hear the wind talk
to you on a cold rainy day
on a cold rainy day you
can feel the clouds that
cry for freedom
as they sail across the sky

as you embrace
warm memories of a
summer that didn't last
you long for sunlight
as the day's grow shorter

I've been writing poetry for a few months now. I'm finally getting to the point where I'd like to take it more seriously (which is how I ended up here). I was inspired to actually write poetry after reading the book "Nocturnal" by Wilder!
Since then, most of my poems make me cringe and want to delete them from existence BUT there are some that I re-read every so often and think, "It's not the best, but I can't believe I actually wrote that."
I'd like to get better at the editing aspect of writing poetry... And that's something I have no idea how to do...
TheWriteBrooke all I can say is...wow...you explained exactly what I have been feeling for awhile now. I got into writing poetry a few months ago and I like some of the things I look back on, but I really want to get better at it. I wish you the best!
Okay I literally got inspiration from the words âwhat makes my heart singâ and âhow I bring light into the worldâ
i want to hop in this and make a videos like this as well! i think writing a poem doesnât work with sitting down and be like âOh i need to write a poem today and Iâm going to sit here until I have ideasâ it does happens once in awhile but itâs kind of something that comes naturally đŹđ
Also there can be, at least for organic writers situations where you do finish your poem in one draft, however it doesnât happen often but sometimes other poems inspire you to create what I call âvisionary masterpieceâ which is a poem that has been mastered in one thought but those poems are more complex then the rest of the poems because they are inspired by multiple works, where as the original ones are inspired but not necessarily by multiple works, it can happen though but my own experiences are different personally.
0:59 I have a shirt with that exact print on it!
So relatable đđ†I graduated from a creative writing course and you've nailed moments I go through myself too đđ

I love your videos! They make me so happy! :))) Could you maybe do a video on anxiety or worry? :)
I will definitely be doing a video on anxiety/fear/worry in the future!
YAAAAY! I'm so glad :)
I'm journaling and writing and my mum says I write like a poet but I never know where to start. I don't know if you have to follow the different rules for different types of poems or just dive in and write whatever you want in whatever way you want?
I loved what u said about strangers being inspiring! also thank you for sharing your poem.
sorry I didn't ask in ur story but
do u follow a style of rhyme scheme? I just find it hard to remember them when I'm making a poem...

I can write the bulk of the poem anywhere, since the writing process is a lot of alternate possible Iines that I just think of and later on I write them down if I can get to a paper within an hour or so.

okay shit imma do it

ive recently gotten into poetry and i was wondering what are some ways you could make your poem more smooth and readable?
here is my most recent poems:
blushing cheeks:
My blushing cheeks are as red as a cherry
A cherry ripe in the summer
embarrassed and frankly uncomfortable
freckles light and glowy
Eyes bright sparking like a diamond
that sparkle..
me yawning peacefully
âah you woke me upâ
and you looking out the window
staring deep in the sky that's as pretty as a picture
not a sound..
slowly falling back asleep
listening to the peaceful silence
silent like a forgotten melody..
and
its gone
Water fills your lungs
But your as empty as a birds nest in october
Unable to breathe
Losing your senses..
Its gone
I can't find euphoria
my chest starting to burn...
trapped with your thoughts
As your life begins flash between your eyes
you see a light..
Poem is like an arrow it has to have a point in order to be effective.
Your eyes are gourgus đž
You're so cute! What camera to you use for these kinds of videos?
I know this video's old but I watched this whole thing like "who does she remind me of. WHO IS IT" and basically you remind me of Molly Mahoney from Mr. Magorium's Wonder Imporium. Soft and pretty and you have really similar voices as well for some reason.
Yes! I thought she had Natalie Portman vibes!

*It Is Not Fire*
The fire in me,
derived from stones,
will dance
and sway,
as them blow me away,
will still
be still
for the paper
and quill
like a lampstand
on the table
on a needy dark night,
will melt
your fears
as long as you're near,
will swallow
the waters
'til they turn crystal white
The fire in me
derived from stones
will warp in your eyes
all the bluish frosts
into
a midnight nothingness,
will not be there
when the moon disappears,
can't forever hold
the ashes and coals
and the smoke flying to the atmosphere
with nothing left
but the woods too wet to consume;
and the eddying air,
my only scentless hearts' perfume
When my eyes drift from the pitch black night,
I put on my clothes on my dewy skin
for my body is of flesh
weaker than the strongest walls
built on shoreline sands
Just a little armor
from the shame of the playful heat
Just a little covering to survive the mist
I turn from left to right and see
the blots of reds on skins,
the marshmallow leftovers
of the party hours ago
from my glitching memories
Every move is a gap bridged on
Every ache is a victory
Long live the pain that comes from the bites of the fire's apostasy
You see,
It is not fire that burns us
nor that keeps us alive
It is everything
that we desire to touch
more than too much
than nothing

Is there a right way to write poetry? Do they all have to rhyme ? Can they be long or short?
There isnât a right way! They donât have to rhyme & you can have them any length you want.
Thank you
I buy your idea of editing and not making haste to post a poem.Poets must think of minimizing words, better expressing ideas and seeking unmistakable images.Thank you a very useful material.
What editing software do use?
You remind me of the movie little womenđđ
