Hi mate, I did a lot of those engine, and they are bomb proof, timing chain is typical Japanese, it will never snap or jump, only problem with them is when you overheat the engine, then you can get head warped or drop a cylinder liner. Judging from the state of air filter, engine sucked a lot of water and as we know water does not compress, so it either snapped/bend con rods or crankshaft snapped. Anyway sad to see you loosing money, I hope that citigo is going to be better. Good luck
Timing belt has snapped, did you check it ? The wet plug is over fueling from all the cranking becuase the 1st cylinder has the intake valve open. If belt is snapped then wont get any compression but also possible damage to valves. £200-£300 would of got that engine sorted.

Wasn't worth fixing at the time. Was told from susuki macanic it's normally gearboxes that go on them. And there about £200.. So if you can strip it and get some ££££back Steve
Its flood damage that why the filter sucked in bend the con rods poss snapped the chain
Sound alone says no or low compression, can be the chain and if not it could be literally anything
CAMBELT has snapped it’s turning over too fast to me
Doesn't have cambelt. It's cam chain. You'd know if the chain snapped cause it wouldn't turn over due to them being interference engines
Had this problem on a Suzuki Jimny
Fuel from flooded engine had washed oil from cylinder bores.
Suzuki mechanic told me to squirt small amount of engine oil down each bore.
Compression restored.
Worked for me.
Worth a try ?
A wet test will raise compression but when compression is near zero there's no hope for it . Valves are open on the compression stroke which I think is because of a jumped timing chain.
Rebuild the engine don't always have to make a profit. Would make interesting content for your channel
Rebuild engine? You could buy an engine for less. Shit cars anyway not worth it for content whose interested in a suzuki of any type 🤣
@@DaleSteel They have quite a following for being cheap, great handling cars and mostly extremely reliable, although there are always exceptions to the rule, as this one is.
@@nathanselley1109 yes they are a reliable car it could of taken water in or been run low on oil anything like that. Only as good as its keeper if not looked after
Shame to scrap it, we throw things away too easy. I would have lifted head to be sure. Great video, not hating 😀
Could of been over revved causing valve float resulting in piston and valves touching. I'm guessing bent exhaust valves.
You can’t win em all unfortunately but don’t give up it’s only money.
I had a similar experience with copart. I ended up losing a chunk of money on them.
What a bitch as an ex mechanic.when I heard that speed straight away I knew game over ! And I saw the water stains on bumper slight muddy .been so much flooding in UK of late and especially Wales !
Get the chain covers off check timing and get it done if it a non interference engine ! Happy days
Fastest check is remove oil filler cap and check the cam is turning as someone cranks it over!!!
Fast and easy!!!!!!!
