- Following the indoor season, we're back for phase 2 of my journey to the Paris Olympics! In this episode I return to the track to begin preparing for the outdoor season, with some tough endurance work along with touching up on my block start technique. With just over 100 days to go until the Olympic trials, It's time to give it my all and get into the best shape of my life!
After vlogging the entire winter training process and indoor season, I've now got around 8 weeks of sprint training to complete before my outdoor season opener, ahead of the European Championships and Paris Olympic games.
Please make sure to like, subscribe, and leave a comment if there's anything you want to see in the future.

We’re back! The training vlogs in the buildup to the summer season will be back on a consistent basis, let’s get to work! Let me know anything that you want to see more of👇🏼
Drop the link for those brown pink and yellow shorts you got????
Most sports fans don't realize how tough it is to make it as a track sprinter . Most pro sports have team rosters and you can make the team without being in the top 3-4 in the entire nation .
You're knocking on the door Joe and it's tough to get those last fractions of a second off your time to gain the ultimate glory . I'm a fan and I'll be watching.😊
It’s definitely a harsh sport in terms of reaching the top, but I’m up for the challenge, thanks for the support!🙏🏼
Well done our Joe. Respect to you for exercising reason, explanation and logic when it came to easing back on the training volume to stave off potential injury. It may be a good idea to get proper cycle shoes and adjusted pedals on the spin bike rather than using trainers bro. And by the way. Become Alister Brownley for your spin sessions. He's loves the pain. Visualisation. Mind over matter. Flow state champ. You've got this. God bless.
For sure, training smart and avoiding overreaching is the way to go, it’s all about the long game! Thanks for the support!🙏🏼
Long duration body weight isometrics will help with tendon issues. See how few sets it takes to get to 2 mins total. 2x/day
I’ll give it a go 🙏🏼
Bloody brilliant channel this
Coming from a swimmer…
I’m totally with you for just feeling grateful for training after injury
That kind of mindset will set you apart from a lot of competitors chasing times and getting in there own heads
If you can channel that gratefulness and happiness on trials day you’ll be in fantastic shape
Thank you! 100% I’m a great believer in gratitude and having times where I’ve not been able to train and compete I’ve learned to enjoy the journey when I’m able to run🙏🏼
Good luck with your journey mate - im excited to watch it
Awesome bro. Looking forward to see you in the Olympics🏆
The mission is alive🫡 thanks for the support!
He’s back 👀❤️🔥
Let’s goooooo❤️🔥
As a cross country runner, hearing "endurance day" and "250" right after i audibly started laughing lmfao
Any further than 300 and we’re into ultra distance territory for me😂
I love this!
🙏🏼
7:33 living in the future:)) good luck for the rest of the journey
I knew a few people would notice this🤣 thank you!🙏🏼
Another great watch. Rooting for you to get Barnsley to the Olympics.
Thank you!🙏🏼
Stop wear the sp2s at training because they the ones that cause tendon problems
I might start wearing the regular finesse for some sessions to break it up a bit
lockedin ⏳⏳
🔥
Great vlog! This guy is so fast, he's already showing us training footage from April while the rest of us are still in March. 😂
😂🤝

Serious Productions🤩🤩
Cmonnn🙏🏼🔥
The tall guy whos running on the right looks like he’s jogging.Very interesting run
He’s tall (around 6”2) so long strides, he’s fast too! (10.6 100m)
Joe please make a detail vlog of your full day of eating
I’ll make it happen soon!
Can you also make a video for kids who run. I run 19,07 on the 150m and I am 12
I’ll see what I can do! In the future I’ll make a video looking at how to improve at each age group
@@joeferguson200 Great! Keep up the good work!
ive found that wearing the sp2s with their slightly slanted build makes me prone to ankle injury and arch pains, so idk if u have the same problem
I’ve worn the SP2 for a couple of years now and generally been fine with them, I think if anything it’s the extra force return that you get from the super spikes in general that may be a higher injury risk
Hey Joe do you do any specific hamstring exercises in the gym?
I don’t have any heavy hamstring exercises, but I do some isometric loading work like single leg bridges
@@joeferguson200 interesting, your gym sessions seem somewhat shorter than mine, i am used to spending almost 2hrs in the gym offseason
There’s some accessory work in the gym that I don’t show in every video, at some point I’ll show a full breakdown of the gym sessions though
are all 12 runs from blocks? thats crazy
Only the first 4 are from blocks, the rest are regular crouch start!
Please Joe run in the Adidas Avanti instead of the SP2 for those tendons they are fast as hell and your Achilles will thank you !!!
I’ve tried flatter middle distance type spikes before and my feet didn’t quite agree with them, especially running at anything above 70%, but it’s something to consider for when we go back to the start of winter doing slow tempo runs!
@@joeferguson200 Yeah especially at the bend you might feel they aren't tight enough but bear in mind that not so long ago spikes were way way softer and flatter than today's and that fact did not prevent people from breaking 10 or 20 so may be to some extent it's a psychological thing....and you could be preventing future injuries. ...

Mate, it sounds like your foot issue could be tibialis posterior tendinopathy
I think it has been some kind of tendinopathy, I’ve been managing it and it’s improving 🙏🏼
do you have any sprint speed training tips/workouts? i’m trying to run faster 100-200 times and I just don’t see a difference…
Why do you pronounce "adidas" like "adeedas" ?
I didn’t think I did?🤣 “ah-di-das”
