@@TatyanasEverydayFood I am in the middle of doing it. I've made the cakes and the coconut custard filling. I followed your recipe exactly but my chocolate cakes didn't turn out as thick as yours - they were about half as thick :-(

Wow, that’s gorgeous! Did you use a full or a half batch of your chocolate buttercream recipe, since you didn’t have to fill the cake layers with it?
Thank you! :) It's such a delicious cake! I did make a full batch of the frosting. The cake is pretty tall so you'll need the frosting for the sides. Enjoy!

Can this cake be made a day ahead? Like make it on a Friday afternoon to serve the following day. And if yes how do I store it?
Absolutely! I usually make my cakes ahead of time. Once you assemble the cake, place it into the refrigerator. Take it out a few hours before serving to allow the cake layers to soft :)
Just wondering, if we can’t find coconut extract, do we think we could substitute the evaporated milk with coconut milk to get that extra flavour of coconut?
For the filling, I recommend sticking with the evaporated milk, otherwise you will get a different texture. You can use coconut milk as a syrup and soak the cake layers with it though! :)
