i just joined a band so i'm playing way more than i used to, and doing these exercises got rid of my tightness IMMEDIATELY upon doing them -- thank you so much! lifesaver! i'll be doing them before and after every practice :)

I found exercises like this back when i started playing. 30+ years later I still do them and never have any pain from playing.
    Thanks for spreading the knowledge.

Bro you’re a legend. I had huge tendon problems especially in plucking hand. I need to warm up before and after I play a gig because it’s starting to become an issue

Good topic, I think it is better to underline the importance of doing this with great caution, avoiding pain, and doing it as slowly as possible.
Also there are two exercises that can prepare and complement this “stretching”: first one is opening the hand slowly but to the maximum, and then closing the punch slowly but to the maximum. So in this way you pump blood to the hand and warm up. After the stretching is better to relax the hand as you do in the video, shaking a little bit.

I didn't watch this video yet. I just wanted to tell you that I love the color grade in this video. Maybe it's just how you got the Red Black and White theme going on. Idk. Looks cool though

Been playing guitar for many years and recently took up bass to play live gigs. I've had to play a lot out of necessity, not just to learn the songs, but also while learning the basics of bass playing. Many hours over extended practice have resulted in soreness in my left wrist right where the hand and wrist connect. I was looking for advice and there you were, right on time. Tried the stretches, I think it will help. thanks.

Also try to keep your wrists pretty straight and if you can, vary between plucking and playing with a pick.

Has anyone found playing a certain type of bass like a multi scale causes more discomfort? Thanks

Basses that aren’t short scale hurt my arm too much after a while, but wrist pain shows up when playing short scales too. I think it’s just my technique
