This video really resonated with me! Hoping you had a wonderful time at the beach, by the way. 🌴🏖 Random comment: I liked the morning sun through the window outlining the guitar, especially as you moved your arms and cast shadows next to it.
Upon seeing the title, the thought that prosaic sounds a lot like Prozac also occurred to me! But in thinking about it, I actually understand the word for the first time (I did learn it many years ago, but I'm not sure I've ever used it in writing or in speaking. Anyway, prosaic:prose::poetic:poetry meaning, it's utilitarian and perhaps "good enough", but uninspiring and devoid of artistry or beauty. I remember when studying Shakespeare that in Julius Caesar, Brutus's speech was written in prose, while Mark Antony's was written in iambic pentameter.
You're absolutely right about the current culture as it relates to creativity. It's always a safer bet (commercially) to go with a proven formula, which is why we get more Star Wars installments than I can count. But this is deadly to any creative energy. I don't have a solution to propose, but my take is that the artistic works that stand the test of time often began in obscurity (although there's an element of chance as to whether the ever get discovered and appreciated). Van Gogh, I'm sure, never imagined that his painting of some sunflowers would sell for $50 million.

Thanks! Yeah, a lot to consider here with some deep truths. And I noticed the interesting lighting as well. I rather enjoyed the change. ☀️

I heard once that if you want to have a new idea read a really old book. I think I understand what you are saying. Everything that should be creative has become so binary, so formulaic, while the things that ought to be thought of as binary have become fluid, ill-defined. I won’t be surprised if the popular artists are reduced to an algorithm, personified in android-form, and owned by a corporation. The melting pot is a great concept until the contents are indistinguishable, a homogenized, over-pasteurized product - devoid of life, tranquil domestication, unable to provide immunity. Perhaps, the thought of this inevitability is inspiration enough to spark the fire of the spirit of creativity, for us to be our utmost selves and for us to propagate our souls.

Ohh, that's quite a thought about artists being owned by corporations. What a world we live in! 🫠
