  • In this video I install some Harbor freight road shock lights that turn out awesome! They seem like a really good value for quality lights.

    Just put a set on my xj. The backlight has the most natural amber I have seen yet. It really mimics the oem amber marker lights. And they are very bright. For the price and size, definitely a great way to go

    Very VERY helpful video. I was trying to decide between these and the Roadshock 6s, but these seem like more than enough...!

    I was gonna buy these but then found the Nacho lights and went with them.
    I like that voswitch you have but it appears they’ve discontinued that type

    Just picked up a set for my dad’s XJ. I’ve already got $1,000 in BD lights on my JT so I guess I’ll have to splurge on the BD LP4’s or LP6’s. Too bad these came out just recently.
    Love the gator JT, I held out for a diesel and ended up not being able to get one.

    Try to aim the lights out to the side a bit , could fix the hood reflection..

    Great review and install video. Looks really nice for the price. Can both low and high beams be on at the same time?

    • @Vehiclesupportedtravel
      @Vehiclesupportedtravel  Před 27 dny

      Thank you! Yes when you turn on high beam it turns all the lights on at the same time. Only the low beam when on is 2 of the lights and is the flood pattern

    Could you please recommend a switch pod on the grab handle that is compatible with the low and high settings of these lights? I currently have the RC 6, and I understand that it is not suitable. I would appreciate your guidance in finding a better alternative that works effectively. Thank you for your assistance.

    Nice review.
    Did you wired through the voswitch or separate?

    • @Vehiclesupportedtravel
      @Vehiclesupportedtravel  Před měsícem

      I went through the Voswitch for the actual switching but I ran the power wire directly to the battery

    What Amp fuse did you wire them to? Both the lights and the amber backlight.

    I could use your help.... You did such a great job with this video I’m trying to follow your lead for my Jeep. I purchased the same Harbor Freight items, however I’m not sure how to connect the wiring harness to my VOSwitch. When you cut the switch off the wiring harness, you have 5 wires (#1 RED, #2 RED/BLK, #7 BLK, #5 WHT and #6 WHT/BLK). Can you share the color wire configurations you use for each of the VOSwitch relays to control the Flood and the Spot. I see the VOSwitch has two wire connections per relay with one being the ground. I called Harbor Freight Support…but they didn’t know. Thank you in advance for your help! This will be my first real Mod for my jeep, and I want to thank you for the inspiration.

    • @Vehiclesupportedtravel

      @@soundjocky ok looking at it now since I ran the main power and ground straight to the battery I just ran the power for low beam solid red to my switch one and the power for high beam white and black to switch two. The other wires i just taped off. I guess you can run the grounds to the switch also but not needed. Since the power is connected direct to the battery the switch is just completing the circuit to turn the lights on off that’s why you only need to wires going into the vosswitch

    • @soundjocky
      @soundjocky Před měsícem +1

      @@Vehiclesupportedtravel Thank you. Just to confirm. VOswitch Aux 1 (Low Beam) 1 Red wire (+ terminal) Only. Aux 2 (High beam) White/black striped (+ terminal) Only. All other wires taped off and did not use. Do I have that correct? I appricate you taking the time to walk me through this...

      It really depends on the performance and durability, a less expensive light that only last one winter would not make my budget list ...
      Now a $100 light that competes with lights 3 or 4 times the price ... Sounds like a sweet deal to me...
