I have only ever seen ONE Jellycat since going to boot sales and charity shops. That was in a charity shop which wasn't even open! You seem to find them every week.
I went down to Sully Carboot on Sunday and wow was it busy. I thought you would have been there, thoroughly enjoyed, great atmosphere and the sun stayed out. Well done Ian, really enjoy your videos.

I sell on eBay to help with fuel costs on the farm I am lucky one of my son’s businesses is house clearances instead of paying me rent I get eBay stock! Most people find it hard to run a car we have four battered Land Rovers and a Kia ! People sell for different reasons we are all different. Personally I like your videos keep them coming ❤

Moreover, it's a joy to witness how even a few hours spent exploring charity shops with your boys can enrich their understanding of life in ways traditional teaching methods cannot match, keep it up .To put in perspective my outgoings for the farm, horse sanctuary and fruit business are around 8-10k pm eBay income is around £300pm . I understand where your coming from but believe me when i say its fine and youve got this . xx

Refreshingly honest Ian, and it's true that this pastime we partake in is getting more difficult in terms of sourcing and indeed profiting with everything going on. As an escape from your full time job it's ideal, and if you can make a bit of money whilst you do it then that's a definite bonus. But as something that you would otherwise depend on to fill the "non-working" day's pay, it's far too unpredictable, particularly given the time and effort spent looking for stuff. Some days may yield some excellent returns, but otherwise leave you wondering why you bother. I'd say it's nigh on impossible these days to make a full time living from this, just by sourcing from charity shops.
You are spot on about the time spent searching and money earned. I normally source if ive got a spare 1/2 hour when im out in the van for work which works fine for me. Park on a loading bay, no parking tickets to worry about 😅. Ive always enjoyed the hunt anyway, so a 60 mile round trip on a sunday morning to a boot sale sometimes isnt worth it. Thats a bit dis heartening for me, especially when i could have had a lie in. But if you dont go, you wont know.
Mate, you're absolutely smashing it but you also have to enjoy the grind. There's good days and bad but I would just suggest that you re-asses things and go at it from a different angle. A lot of people love what you do and it inspires others to do the same. Keep up the hustle.

I'm a stay at home parent and do some reselling as a hobby. For me charity shops hunting is taking time for myself. More than often I don't come back with very much.
Exactly what they used to be for me and the jellycat Guy... spending time together. Now he's at school, I'm effectively going round to make money... and that's not really happening
I know our situations differ, but I won’t take time out of work to go to charity shops. I’ll visit them on my days in the office, and like you, it can be therapeutic to potter around lost in your own thought. I’ll find the odd gem, but nothing consistently so will only visit the gem at my convenience. I can imagine disappointment drives buying things that aren’t brilliant because you don’t want to come away empty handed. Just glad neither of us does this full time as I fear it would suck the fun out of it.
It would definitely suck the fun out of it and imagine you'd start to resent it. I cannot see how anyone can make a fulltime living out of charity shops. There's just not enough in it
I had the same issue with a full Football kit, funnily enough it was a Liverpool one too but an adult one. They took my listing down but I changed things a little and just said full kit worn once without mentioning socks at all and it sold.
Your voice overs in the shops remind me of Neil from Art Attack back in the day, dont know why haha. Maybe he was welsh 🤔 but he always used to whisper when drawing or whatever.
I've got all lee child's books,half of them are signed,there a good read ,but your right charity shops are full of them but if nobody has his books ,there cheap enough

@@MasterofPieces did spent £300 at WH Smith ponty tofsy though 75% closing down sale + got chatting to staff & they gave me discount on top of the 75% opportunities is everywhere, also a £240 spend at my local auction house should return atleast £1250
Not true on the jellycat btw I listed a limited edition stripey one for 399 a year maybe year and a half ago I accepted 300 same night cray money and they do sell

It all depends on the charity shop name i find. Big brand name shops hardly find anything. Little indepentant shops i can fill my boot!
Those little independent ones quickly become known in the local reselling communities. Can't say I've ever filled a car load

Ian have you tried going somewhere new also perhaps may try an antique centre they have old games and something I always do and make money
The past 6 months chart shops have really dipped. Its time to look for something else on a personal level.
I've noticed a dip too. I used to be able to get about £100 worth of profit across the smaller everyday items... now on average its about £50
