I still very much admire your devotion to these cars. I’m not sure why, but at least here in the US, all BMWs and Audis made between 2003 and 2009 were just absolute disasters. All the electrical issues with the first gen BMW idrive and Audi MMI. Not to mention how much people here would just drive these cars in to the ground. But, you find decent ones, and crap ones, combine and fix them to make one brilliant car. Keep up the good work!
Thanks, many of them are also abused here, so to find one worth buying is definitely a challenge. Rebuilding the crashed one is going to be very interesting😅
Why not code out the cold / hot check for the lights, no need for resistors

I totally understand the whole "didn't think it would need that much work" thing. I bought a 2005 e60 525i for $1500 and wound up dumping $5k into it in parts including a manual swap, manual swap was $1500. it had a ton of deferred maintenance.

, the numberplate LED you can get
OEM led lights from LCI with some adapters, and then you have to code the
FRM to stop monitoring the voltage of the numberplate and you don’t have the bright LED to illuminate your back of your car. I done on my E90

Great work man, as a detailer i suggest for the Norway Weather, Soft 99 glaco glass coating(clean the glass with a glass cleaner then panel prep/alchocol and water mix) and apply it.
For the paint buy Gyeon Wet Coat which lasts 3 montsh and great beading :D

My e90lci was vibrating also, my rear brake was siezed and making my car vibrate just a little and only sometimes. I couldn't find the problem for a longest time =) good video, keep them coming,. how much you selling this e60 for? better be good money, Norway is expensive !

Can you show us how to get the lci gear stick into neutral while the car is not started. I have a 525d lci and was always wondering how to do it
Pretty easy, just pull of the plastic housing around the gear lever, and use a screw driver to push it in place😊
I have the same side repeators (withouth the M) on my e46... Though no one liked them, so happy seeing them!

Tell me, you lifted the car with a jack in the center under the engine, what part did you put the jack under? Is it safe to lift it like that, nothing will bend?
How did you find the timing chain stretch? Can you notice without taking the whole gearbox and engine out? Is it the same for F-series?
I heard that it is streched by sound, when you start the engine cold there is a slapping metal sound, then it goes away 2 seconds after starting when the oil pressure builds up, yup same for f series with n47 engine

@@EMSGARAGEE61 good point, though, any comments on 525d pre-LCI vs. LCI? I am concerned for the durability of the engine, since, yes, both are M57s, but one engine block is cast-iron (pre-LCI), while LCI model, though, nicer overall, has aluminum engine block 🤔
@@mrlolas1010 even though the pre-lci is more robust, I would get a facelift one next time, I love my pre-lci m57 but I also love how the facelift feels, as long as you take care it will hold😊

@@EMSGARAGEE61 hvordan skal jeg forklare problemet så du forstår det😂 kort sagt har jeg en e39 530d som er chippa, når jeg gir full gass så soter bilen skikkelig og jeg får på en måte hardcut om det gir mening. Har ikke hardcut på bilen men d føles ut som hardcut. Bilen går skikkelig dårlig når dette skjer, har du no formening om hva det kan være? Begynner å gå tom for ideer😂
@@thedrifttrains4345 check fuel pressure and the whole fuel system. Could be not getting enough fuel :D
