Korea was not a weak country in the first place... The ancient dynasty of Korea relied on rice as its staple food, and it has always had a strong national power based on its large population and high productivity in the world. However, from the late 16th century, it suffered damage from the Imjin War and the Byeongja Horan. After that, Japan overtook Korea. In the 19th century, Joseon did not develop due to the dictatorship of the yangban family. In this way, the sovereignty of the country was taken away and independence, but it was divided and South Korea was revived through economic policies in the 1970s.

He converted to a Catholic Priest but still became close to my grandfather. He named me after the National Flower of Korea, I never saw him after my grandfather died, believed to be poisoned by NK spies,
Their darker skin it’s because they were working on the field or outdoors. That’s why fair skin was considered it belonged to higher social class because they were doing indoors activities like sewing, paint, writing reading. Sadly those stereotypes are still in our society. At least the same happens in my country too.
When you go to the Korean coast, the fishermen are so darkly tanned they're almost black - so dark skin is connected to peasant work outside and lower class, also being constantly exposed to the sun lets your skin age faster. Hardly anyone wants to look like a wrinkly raisin from doing physical (and often smelly) work when you can have smooth porcelain skin instead.
Unlike Europeans, East Asians skin tones change a lot based on sun tan. Most Europeans just get sun burnt like red Martian and their skins peel off. But when Koreans get sun tanned they become darker and then become pale again during winter. So Korean skin tone constantly change over the seasons and sun exposure, while European skin tones remain largely the same throughout seasons. This is why Koreans don’t get skin cancer. Because their skin adapts to the sun exposure very quickly. I am Korean myself and I become black in summer (because I go to beach everyday) and become white again in winter because I don’t get to see the sun. This is why Koreans look much younger than Europeans because our skin is very adaptable and does not get damaged by the sun and slows down the aging process.
It is sad that you see people who had dreams, aspirations, and competition, and now they are sleeping underground, and also this thing makes me see life as trivial, and we should take advantage of every second in order to be entertained, as it is a great blessing. .
