    I did some mods to my 4C which transformed the car from a sportscar to a very serious sportscar:
    - Shims for the lower front wishbones from Madeno Racing. Gives me -2 camber in the front
    - Yokohama AD08R tires (215/40/18 in front, 255/30/19 in the back) Makes it possible to do a launch control from 6000 rpm without wheelspin, and combined with the shims there is no understeer
    - Beek Racing remap (+48HP). Raised power on the dyno from 248HP to 296HP. Limited the torque at 400NM
    - BMC air filter without the sock coming at the standard filter. Much better airflow, more induction noise and overall a little extra power. You don't need the sock, only if you live in the UAE.
    - Spacers (15mm) in the back. Makes the car way more planted and overall it solves the horrible gap in the wheel arches.
    That's it. The transformation is just amazing. 0-100 in 3,5 seconds, 100-200 in 8,2 seconds. No understeer, no wheelspin with launch control and even more fun. Have to say: I already had the racing package out of the factory, so it's the most sporty 4C you could buy.

    If you wanna keep it black but was considering a wrap, why not black with an added colour. Like gold fleck or metallic cherry red or a dark pearly racing green. Give it some depth, make it really moody in different conditions. I like how silver cars look under yellow street lamps at night.

    Have the alfaworks remap for 280hp. Also the Quicksilver exhaust and larger shiftpaddles. Perfect options. A rear camera will also improve your ease of use, I have it combined with a joying Android 8inch mediasystem wich includes a proper gps. Those were options I really had to have since I daily the car for almost 2 years now.

  • @briansmith9360
    @briansmith9360 Před 5 lety

    As a 4C Spider owner I've picked up on a number of things you've mentioned, in the video. The Alfaworks steering mod is a must. I used to call it 'ditchfinder' steering as the factory set up was track focused and useless on UK roads. I was one of the first 4C owners to have this done and It transforms the car. I 'm happy with my Pirelli P-Zero AR tyres which are more suited to low temperatures. I know 4C owners who don't take their car out in temps below 7c because they have the racing package option which included the ARR tyres that needed heat in them to work properly. The bug headlights were standard on the Coupe but Alfa added the Spider or clear headlights as a cost option on later cars. The bug lights cannot be changed to clear as an afterthought, the wiring harnesses are totally different. I've driven the Alfaworks car with 280bhp and the same car with 350bhp. Personally I think 280 bhp is ideal if you want more power but I'm quite happy with my 240bhp. I also have the Alfaworks Quicksilver Helmholtz exhaust on my 4C, it makes a great noise without the drone. Not sure if the link has been posted before but Jamie Porter is the UK's 4C guru and is well known globally. He's currently working on a 2 litre engine for the 4C. They also do servicing at sensible prices so there's no need to be frightened of cost of maintenance. I have a great dealer so don't have to drive lots of miles to Alfaworkshop as the dealer rates are very good. BTW, I'm not on commission it's just nice to let people know where the experts are. I've no comment to make on the spacers but maybe that's something I might consider at some point. www.alfaworkshop.co.uk/

  • @S2000Y
    @S2000Y Před 5 lety +2

    Well the cheapest mod is the spacers and if they don't work out you can use them as big beer mats in your new house. Chasing engine horsepower will bring in the law of diminishing returns for ROI, plus I would check what your gearbox is rated to should you go that route. Not keen on the wheel design but it's all in the owners eyes at the end of the day. Good Luck whatever you do.

    Hey mate I got my spacer kit from Madness in the states. Really exceptional quality. Mine are the 5 front and 20 rear. Not quite flush but it looks like it should have done from the factory. They now offer a 10 front and 25 rear I believe for a more modified look. I have the alfaworks geometry kit too. Car handles very well and has minimal tramlining if any. Also, I recently got the Alfaworks ecu. It's the factory Bosch with upgraded map. It makes a "massive" difference and is a must do modification. The torque hits hard around 2500rpm and it pulls hard to redline. Plus it has much smoother downchanges in the lower gears. Eurocompulsion offer the same for only $1000 US on special. Worth every penny.

    They revised that geo in 2015 so you may well find your car wasn't that bad... Even the early ones weren't THAT bad. Also get some super sports on it as they improve the tramlining further. Can't get the PS4S in 18's yet.
    You can't just swap the lights over as the looms are different. However you can get the carbon covers.
    Get the car PPF'd for sure.

    Go for 600 bhp!! Just kidding of course.
    Steering sounds like a “must-have” so good that it’s done.
    I put spacers on my Giulia I think they were 20mm rear, 12mm front - didn’t affect handling and looks great!
    Private number plate is a bitch and can be time consuming where you are.. I’m in Ohio and got my first name for my “vanity” plates “MARTYN”.!! Try that back in the UK...
    remap might be good but does it affect warranty?
    Wrap? Nah..... black is good.
    Exhaust mod sounds good. I won’t do it as my neighbors will complain!
    Personally, I think your new transport looks good the way it is now so save up for the house and congrats!

    Really depends what you want out of the car in terms of mods. I recommend powerflex engine bush insert which smooths out the gear changes without any drawbacks. If you are serious about track driving then rear uniball bushes are a must. 280 bhp remap transforms the car to a weapon. Michelin tyres are good all rounders and far better than the pirellis. Again if you track the car then you may consider the smaller wheels with semi slicks. My 4c is one of the most tracked in the UK and I'm a regular contributor to the 4C UK FB group. Out at Brands next week 🙂

    Great video - the zender rear diffuser would look great - headlights are controversial as some describe as insect eyes with conjunctivitis however gloss or carbon fibre would lift the front. Spacers on rear - maybe modest track widening a good thing for stability and looks but wide front track and tapering at rear part of the appeal. Test drive with new A1 would be fun to see :)

      Got a major service done today at 33000kms, costs 438€. Smal service, about 280€... in between tightening bolts on the chassis af ter 20k was done without cost. Usualy we pay extra for almost everything in Belgium opposed to other countries nearby, so I dont see why they should charge that amount in the UK.

      @@South4153 - I love the idea of driving a light car with a manual steering; but i'm sure on a road trip across Europe with mates, it may start to prove tiresome. I know Alfaholics can engineer thier 105 series recreations with Power Steering that only works on slow speeds.

    It is strange that you mention handling, especially on the english roads (I drive my front wheel drive 2018 Giulietta Veloce on the slippery greek roads and it spins when the turbo comes in with 3rd gear!). On the contrary, the italians maintain the opposite on their roads. Try the all time safe Michelins. I wouldn't mess with the engine, it is not two liters and it is always better when warmed enough (like the rattling Ducattis!). I also hope it survives with care the long way (I had the more rough version for 20 years and 230.000 kms on a lovely Barchetta!).
