- Exploring the section of Buckeye Creek upstream of Buckeye Campground. No luck fishing, but I did run into an awfully feisty falcon and took in some beautiful high country vistas.

Hey Mike, Another Beautiful video camping out & hiking up Buckeye Creek for some Angling! As a Rookie Angler I know catching 0 fish is part of the adventure. I think that is what keeps you getting back out in the Great outdoors to drop another line. Crazy Raptor encounter & Video work... Thank you \'''/
Thanks Andy! I had no idea I actually caught the hawk's approach on camera till after I reviewed the footage. Really cool to watch him hone in on me (as an AF vet I'm sure you can appreciate). A pretty aggressive little fella! Now I know how a mouse feels... :)
A frequent occurrence for me (skunked) but there is no such day as a bad day on the stream. Thanks!
@chili1593 thanks for watching!
Great video, thanks. Been there many of times and never any fish? It's a real shame, since it is such a great area and easy access along most of the stream. I wonder if it gets washed out during the run off season?
@@jasonsnyder2920 thank you and thx for watching! The campground host was telling me trout usually start showing up later in the summer (late July) from upstream. My theory is that the large boggy and polluted meadow upstream of the campground leeches lots of waste into the creek in the spring / early summer months, and later in the season it dries up a bit keeping the stream cleaner… just a theory though. But you’re right the lack of fish is a bit disappointing
Don’t think that was a falcon. It was a Cooper’s hawk.
Thank you for that... I've been trying to figure out what it was.
