    whys everyone hating on the workout, its not designed to be lifting heavy weights it looks like an inseason session keeping the core nice and strong. its pretty hard lifting maximally all the time when u have team sessions, conditioning sessions and not to mention getting beat up on game days. anyone who has played rugby at a half decent standard will know this, the real heavy lifting and gains are left for the off season!

    Good workout. USA Rugby is becoming a legitimate force in the game and will only continue to develop.

  • @bingbangboombing
    @bingbangboombing Před 12 lety

    If rugby was broadcasted more in the US and the knowledge and popularity of it grew to the popularity of football, I think we could be one of the best nations in the world.

    very true mate, im with you there. the likes of sexton and trimble coming up, and now seeing how bowe has developed, o'connell has always been world class along with o'callaghan and o'gara is widely regarded as one of the best kickers in the world.

    hey i play semi-pro rugby in england and it is indeed a stabilization workout! these are often used in-season at my club because the loading of the lifts can't be near maximum otherwise we don't fully recover by game day. core training is of most importance in season but they would still do other stuff life olympic lifting, plyos and maximum strength work but these are not the main focus as in the off season or pre season because of the demanding schedule of games anyway. hope that helps a bit

  • @irimanan27
    @irimanan27 Před 13 lety

    strength for rugby is in the core, and the heart! its not all about strength, if you increase your anaerobic, your aerobic abilities go down. Remember its a game of 40 minute halves. Marius pudzinowski plays rugby, super strong no aerobic ability. Good on you USA.

  • @ko6918
    @ko6918 Před 15 lety

    yes is it a stabilization workout. You see how much they engage the core in all the work out they do, swiss balls, rotating shrugs etc. like richie said im sure its not the only workout they do depending on their schedule. Although are you aware of the importance of core in the game of rugby. You look at a player like Robinson, not huge in the upper body, but its from the core where hes able to take and break tackles and keep that low center of gravity

    would be awesome if america really did get big into rugby. With the athletes that america produces through college etc they would have an incredible team. Its supposed to be the fastest growing sport in america at the moment so here's hoping some day it gets really serious there

    I have alot of respect for rugby players. I wrestle actually. And its alot the same. Not much support, no pay, and much harder training and competing than any other sports because they love it. Go Rugby! Go Wrestling!

    @irimanan27 For a man of Pudzinowski's size, his aerobic ability isn't that bad. Indeed it's this superior aerobic ability that sets him apart from other Strongmen, who couldn't run the length of themselves.

    just imagine if rugby could get just a fraction of "Football" rejects into rugby, with their explosiveness and skill set, bit of conditioning and you have yourself an athlete suitable for rugby with good numbers.

    I'm from the U.S. and I love Amercian Football but then i hate it because all I can think about is if we didnt have football we'd have all of these amazing athletes at our disposal for rugby...DOWN WITH THE NFL!

  • @Bruinsfan54
    @Bruinsfan54 Před 12 lety

    @geezyoursoft I think that people here are so used to the short exciting plays of football that they wouldnt be able to sit through a whole rugby game haha, before i knew the game well i though the play in between the big hits and the big runs were so boring but now i appreciate the small stuff alot more

    What is this? A stabilization workout? He's depowered all the lifts except the squat, which makes it pretty much useless for rugby. This doesn't seem to have much game application either.. If you are looking for a rugby program, you can find better ones via a google search. This can't be a NATIONAL level schedule - or at least not 1 an inseason or offseason schedules... at least I hope not. If it is, it may help to explain the recent drop in the US's world ranking, though.

    there r a lot of nfl players that played wit serious injurys.. 1 is fromer eagles runningback Brian Westbrook so dont make this like nfl football players r weaker than professional rugby players because thats not ture. There r plenty of nfl players that get cut from the nfl just cuz that cant hang wit the big dogs. If u look it up, u will know that the 1's that do get cut from the nfl, go to RUGBY, boxing, or a lower football league. USA will make a rugby world cup run, just u wait and see!!!!!

    if these guys are pros shame on them. get a new coach quickly. his squats dont come the whole way down either, trust rugby coaches to do that, burst that ego quick and do it properly cheating with technique makes you lift more weight but the end results will be mising. nice db press on the ball though

    DUDE y did u reply 2 MY comment? What's bullshit is, deep down inside u know that without Brian O' Driscoll, ireland, and leinster would be trash. I bet u didnt know that Leinster needed brian o' driscoll so bad in one game that they made him play when he only had 40%-60% vision in his right eye. Leinster didn't trust a younger backup player to play in his spot. Now u know that's shitty.
