I like this much more than Pawn Stars
I love these guys, they are so knowledgeable. They definitely make the show. Although Canadian picker is the same concept, i couldn't get into it. the other two guys are boring, they have nothing on Mike or Frank. I'm Canadian, but i love American picker better. Off course we can't leave out Danielle. she's hot. It wouldn't work without her. It would be a big mistake running Canadian picker instead of American picker.
I don't get all the anger.......I personally love this show.
@darrenbeckley ..So your saying that it's wrong for them to buy "valuable" items from older people who don't have the networking skills to find the right buyers? Realistically all the junk they pick up needs to be restored for a cost and you need to network online to find the right buyers and old people do not know how to navigate on a computer and you will most likely not sell anything at a higher price locally, and if my grandparents had a bunch of junk I wouldn't mind pickers buying anything.

their stuff, they ask on each item, and if the owner says he really wants to keep it, they move on to a different item. I know your comment was a long time ago, but I still wanted to say those facts, and maybe you will think differently about them.
I don't see how it's taking advantage or "depriving" all of the crap that these old people have collected over the years is mostly going to sit around collecting dust, filth and rotting away until the day they die, then their families come in and clean out everything. If they're single, then everything goes to the landfill.
Not only that, look at the dirty crap Mike & Frank buy, I'm quite surprised on the prices they pay some of that old rusty crap.
So I don't quite see this as deprivation..

Pawn Stars is good but honeslty, American Pickers takes you outside the walls to show you where some all the stuff comes from. Two words: Mole Man.
A disjointed, ram-shackle, recluse who has built a collectors paradies underground? Won't find that kind of unique character on Pawn Stars.
The American Pickers work hard for the money to buy these items. You think driving several miles a day to multiple locations, sometimes dealing with aggressive people at times, then looking through piles of stuff that the nice people let them look through isn't hard work? You also make it sound like they target old defenseless people, but do you ever think that the older people, who have experienced more of history, would be more likely to collect? And its not like they force the people to sell
In real life these guys would be out of business in 2 weeks. They need to make 2K dollars a day in profit to operate. Let's see Blue cross 6K a month, salary 14K a month,Van and gas and repairs 2K a month. Shop 2K a month. Then they show a purchase and they make 15 dollars. What a joke. 4 minutes ago

@ViperSRTnACR ...The owners bought the items, actually worked hard for the money and paid for it, they can store it any way they see fit because they EARNED it! "Pickers" Mike and Frank are looking to make as much money, with as little effort as they can, and they single out the elderly...Would you want them on your familys' property...Certainly NOT!!!
i'd like to have THE LIST of the ppl they resell this junk to, 4 their profits ! Who the hell buys this junk from them 4 the big dollars, is the question. If it werent for the show paying them i think they'd be burning up half the profits in gas or diesel 4 the van. The old antique motorbikes and visible gas pumps are the only real profitable items. Reality TV shows can make anything seem profitable , kinda like the house flipping shows b4 the housing bust ! Still an interesting show , though .

I am starting to dislike Pickers..its seems to be two guys taking advantage of old people and looting their stuff for a discount..
Yeah, the same old people that just leave their oh so valuble shit to rust into nothingness in their back yards...
So, people actually buy the garbage they buy? Restored, or not, it's still complete junk.
