- -Welcome to the Sleep Ranch! We are located in the Northern Black Hills on the South Dakota/ Wyoming border where our ancestors settled and started ranching in 1883.
I (Carson) work alongside my parents, Jeff and Jodi, our ranch hand, Jaques, my wife, Damaris who also works as a nurse in town, and our two sons Silas and Leyton! We have friends and family who come along very frequently as well!
We run a cow/calf operation where we summer our cattle on the Black Hills National Forest and winter them in the foothills of the Black Hills. We also have a backgrounding feedlot, and grow alfalfa and grass hay.

Carson I see your on Trump how is he doing?? Been praying for him. He is such a good horse. I took care of my dad horse after he past away. Stormy looked just like trump. He lived to be 38 and had a stroke and had to put him down. My heart was/is crushed. It was the last thing I had of my dad. Be safe out there and God Bless 💔💔
He’s doing okay Crystal, thanks for your prayers. Sorry for the loss of your dad’s horse. I know that has to be hard…he lived a long and enjoyable life I have no doubt!

Watching from Nebraska really enjoy your videos. I'm sure it's hard to get everything done on the ranch. Have you thought about cutting a few of the trees right in front of the tunnel where the cattle go threw. Might be easier to chase them through. What part of the Black hills? My great grandfather and grand parents are from Sturgis.
Our ranch is west of spearfish and this grazing permit is close to Cheyenne crossing
@@sleepranch my grandmother was raised in Sturgis. Maiden name Hale. Her husband , named Butler , was the first road builder in the Dakota territories and the only government builder there from 1900-1919. Never owned a diesel engine. 1,500 mules
