But what if that wasn't the case what if Austria took the initiative and expanded into its neighbors and even annexed Germany?

Nice video. But the map of ethnic german reagons was not that accurate. Im hungarian and no germans were living in that area. After the 1st ww sopron was given to austria but the city protested against it. Now sopron is known of the city of loyality

I am not sure if I was using an ethnic or linguistic map of 20th century Europe but for example in this ethnic map (link below) it is shown that sopron province is part of the German ethno-sphere in 1914. I was following a similar map to this and it is also possible I made a mistake in mapping.

Sopron protested not for ethnic reasons, but because of political and economic connections inside of Hungary. Same thing happened in Silesia ( Katowice) which protested annexation to Poland.
