Beginner Series, Martillo Rhythm Improvisations for The Bongos

Continuing with the bongo beginner series we begin to improvise within the Martillo Rhythm. Here we have the most basic improvisation with just two notes (rim shots) played over two measures. This is just the start of many more to come as we will continue to take the Martillo rhythm to another level. These improvisations can also be used to develop a bongo solo aside from the Martillo rhythm!
Now take some time to listen to some of the great masters of the Bongos as I leave you a list of the names of some of the greats!

Hey, this was a great lesson for a beginner looking to move beyond the classic Martillo -- thanks! But it looks like you didn't get to do the additional lessons on Bongo improv you said were coming. I, and I'm sure many others, would really appreciate those lessons if you could find time to do them!

Sorry I haven’t made videos in a while but I was busy relocating to another. In the process of finishing my studio and when done more videos will be coming.
