I think it’s time to pursue it finally 😂 I was interested in microblading initially but powder brows, lip blush, tooth gems are what I’m really interested in learning.. but one thing at a time. Very informative video thank you. I am going to start my training soon and wanted to know how did you get your clients and how much you charge for your service? Also do you recommend practicing at spa first or open my own. My goal is to grow and open a a studio or even training school.

As far as my advice for working VS. opening up your own business goes - it's going to totally depend on you and what your needs are.
I recommend reading a ton of business books and creating a rough outline of how you want your next 1-5 years to look like.
Then, look at the first year and see what SKILLS you need to actually open up a studio.
If you feel like you have NO experience with working directly with clients or sales, I recommend starting at a spa for 1 year. This will teach you a lot about how a beauty business is run AND you learn how to build relationships and trust with clients. This will also allow you to save up money.
If you feel like you're READY and you know a lot about customer service already, AND you have the funds to bootstrap your business, then I recommend you to just START NOW.

Also this is very interesting but I did a quick Google search and it seems like Arizona doesn't require a licensure to practice tattooing. I'm curious if you know this to be true?

Hi Joolie! Good point! I decided to leave out the permit as it varies greatly by state. However, I did pay $100 for the NYC tattoo license permit 😊 Where are you located?

Hi! You need a tattoo license to perform microblading in NYC, no need for an esthetics license :) I would recommend asking friends & family, maybe even other business owners that you know and see if they recommend any accountants! Can also do a search on Google Maps to see if there's anybody with good reviews nearby you.
Is that 6k a month in rent? How were you able to afford that starting out? Did you already have a clientele?

How did you find a trust worthy accountant? Also how often are you paying them?
I used my family's accountant to open my business! However, after 3 years, I realized that he was no longer a good fit. I found a new accountant this year by looking on Google Reviews. I recommend asking your F&F - anyone you know who may be a small biz owner, researching Yelp/Google Reviews, reaching out to local biz owners in your industry to see who they work with. Then, give the prospects a phone call and see who you want to work with. It may take some time to find the right fit, but worth the effort!

You paid 6,000 for the shop/space alone or you have monthly rent?
Hi Tiera that was just the deposit I had to pay to secure the shop and sign the lease. Afterwards, I am still responsible for monthly rent!
