Audrey was SO ahead of her time when this movie came out.
Remember: she's not only set up to take over her fathers mechanic business, her sister is also currently training to be a heavyweight boxing champion.
You know Q from Impractical Jokers made a good point, "I'm all for woman mechanics, but we all want our car to run"
I love that they hug and hold hands instead of kissing immediately, we love a steady but strong relationship!
There's actually some very interesting history behind the particular studio that made this movie.
This, and several other movies came from the Florida studio, which for a long time was a backup animation studio that did work the main Burbank studio didn't have time for.
Then in 1996 Disney decided to focus all their energy on transitioning to 3D animation, acquired Pixar and started working on A Bug's Life.
They basically told the Florida studio (their only remaining full-time 2D animation studio) they could do whatever movies they wanted.
And the Florida studio, for the first time, got to produce feature films:
• Mulan (1998)
• Tarzan (1999)
•John Henry (2000)
• The Emperor's New Groove (2000)
• Atlantis: The Lost Empire (2001)
• Lilo & Stitch (2002)
• Brother Bear (2003)
Then in 2004 Disney decided to stop producing 2-D feature films altogether, closed down the Florida studio and laid off all the animators.
Many of whom then got hired by Dreamworks.
disney more and more just proove to be a heartless company with no morals or care for the public or the magic...
But what about Winnie the Pooh and Princess and the frog? Those were 2d animated and came out years later after 2004.
They just match each others energy so well! The hug scene was a beautiful and they are one of the prettiest Disney couples ever!
As a red-haired archeologist with problems socializing and oversized circular black wire frame glasses who is determined to make a monumental historical discovery, I relate both to milo as a charecter and simping over him.
Dylan: STOP SAYING I LOOK LIKE THIS NERD, I'M NOT MILO
Rebeca: Ohh we kinda simmilar
IMHO they're the cutest animated movie couple. Movie holds a special place in my childhood, since I basically only had 3 movies other than Tom & Jerry and Mr Bean stuff, which was a bugs life, Tarzan and this movie. Played the movie a lot, to the point that the first disk stopped working on me.
I know what you mean. Growing up, we didn't have box office and all that jazz- so we kinda just resorted to cheap pirated dvds sold at street vendors and shopfronts. Personally, my childhood movies were Spongebob Atlantis, a bunch of bundled barbie movies, Open Season, Madagascar, Shrek, WallE, Rango, Puss in Boots. But Tarzan was my favourite, was the first ever animated cartoon I've seen with a dub of a language I used to go about my life, so I grew attached to it- and I still do.
Rebecca, DO NOT fall for a 2D man
I speak from experience it’s a one-way street and it never ends
You think that's bad try being into both genders when animation is involved
Kida needs more love. Seriously missed opportunity that Kingdom Hearts never brought her in having Atlantis as a disney world
That cut to the sponsor was so smooth that I thought you were joking at first-
Also if you liked this movie you should DEFINITELY check out Treasure Planet or the Road to El Dorado too
She'd probably die of thirst during Road to El Dorado, but what a way to go.
11:15 lol I agree, the only reason why they put him in the front his because he's the only one that can read the book and lead the way. They should have had someone driving for him at least lol
REBECCA DONT BE DOWN BAD FOR THE ANIMATED MEN AGAI-
okay well...
maybe you can be down bad for Milo-
that boy fine af
When anyone asks the moment I knew I was bi, I point to this movie.
idc everyone is so PRETTY 😭
Why does the reflection in your glasses match the Toothless plushy in the back
YOU'VE ALWAYS HAD DRAGON TENDENCIES B ROSE, I KNEW IT
Milo and kida werechildhood crushes and I still find both very attractive💚💚🏳️🌈🏳️🌈
This is still such an undervalued Disney movie that only got recognition years later. It looks great, it has a fun original story, a solid villain and great voice actors. It's also kind of fun to see an animated movie with such a diverse cast of characters from the early 2000s
28:12 lmao at least both Milo and Kida are adults, not something that can be said about Edward and Bella.
Atlantis: The Lost Empire & Tresure Planet are so underrated now. Atlantis meant the world to me in my childhood.
I actually got obsessed with the actual history of it after watching this.
It got me interested in ancient history in general.
Fun little tidbit about the scene where Milo is talking to Whitmore. The fish tank in the background had some very unusual fish, no? Those are coelacanths. A species of fish thought to have been extinct until their rediscovery in South Africa in 1938. This movie is set in 1914. It's a clever bit of foreshadowing in a criminally underrated movie.
Since y'all like Milo's hair, I definitely recommend Treasure Planet next (Jim Hawkin's hair is pretty much like Milo's, but with a ponytail and some early 2000's vibes).
"Oh no, you're the chosen one." I felt that.
since Kida is now Queen Milo has gone above Disney Pince. and is in fact a Disney King. ah, but Atlantis is the lost Empire making him and Kida. Emperor and Empress. AKA the highest form of Disney Royalty we've seen so far!
I didn't think about it that way but your super right! I love it ❤!
The difference is Milo is an adult whereas Bella was not.
Loved your reaction💕 Tho, As soon as I saw this title it reminded me that Dylan (is in trouble) reacted to this movie and was pissed because people said he looks like Milo 😭😂😂 and the more he watched the more angry he got because they were a lot alike. And now you're simping for Milo and all I can think of is that 😭🤣😂
Good to know I’m not the only Milo AND Audrey simp around here 🤌
Question: Have you seen Disney's Dinosaur (2000) before? It's a 39th animated feature film of Walt Disney Animation Studios, and it's part of Post-Renaissance Era.
And it also has computer-animated of these Dinosaurs and it has live-action background.
I know it's an underrated animated movie, but it's not that bad. It's a great movie.
I love this movie.
I think it would’ve been much better if it was more like Fantasia’s Rite of Spring segment.
It’s fun to watch Atlantis with a fellow Milo simp 😂
I think this was the first Disney movie where the princess actually inherits the kingdom.
13:06 That's a Disney trope. The main characters have their parents die
also i love the sequel but you have to watch it knowing its *not actually a movie,* just the 3 first episodes of the cancelled tv animated series pasted together. if you go into it thinking its an actual movie, you will be very disappointed. but as a series, i really liked it.
i wish they hadnt cancelled the series as it had real potential to showcase other cultures and their beliefs and practices like the first 3 episodes did.
omggg I remember seeing this in elementary school! This brings me back to better days 😭
17:39
You just compared this underrated gem to the Twilight movies?!
HOW DARE YOU, MADAM!!!
😤
This movie is among the most underrated in Disney history, if not among the most underrated in movie history, period.
Love it, always and forever.
I love how your first thought is "he's dressed like Donald Duck," not "he's dressed like a Navy officer"
I'm currently ill and watching you enjoy one of my favorite childhood films managed to cheer me up! ty girlie 💓
@@rxbeccarose you have to check out Disney’s Tarzan next! It’s up there with Atlantis
Audrey was my favorite out all the women in this movie, and the one that I would want to have a relationship with if she was real. When I first saw this movie, I was secretly hoping that she was going to end up with Milo by the end.
😅
That being said, even though Kida ultimately got Milo in the end, Audrey managed to steal the first kiss!
😎
It’s nice that you liked the movie because Disney announced it’s going to have a live-action adaptation soon and Tom Holland is probably going to be the one for the role of Milo Tatch
This is not true. A fan made a photoshop pic of Tom in Milo’s outfit along with other dream casting and people saw it and ran with it. Disney hasn’t confirmed anything
As much as I love Tom Holland, I think they should really reconsider someone else to play Milo
**Seeing you go gaga for Milo's hair when he meets Mole** It's ok to wet yourself, the ocean water will cover your shame :3 lol, I basically got that line from Dale Gribble when him and the Special Ed kids went on a water ride :)
**Seeing Mrs. Packard walking about naked in the middle of the night** I wonder if this is what Hell is like? . . . Hey, it's the same question I ask when I see Drag Queens, lol X3
Are British girls in general this obsess with hair? I don't know, only then I've been to England (and Ireland first, Scotland Northern Ireland and Wales) was in the Summer of 1995 when I was seven (born Dec 23, 1987),
At age seven, I wasn't paying attention to all the obsessive hair talk; all I was thinking about was "Wow, this is the Land of Captain John Smith!" and apparently; Summer of 1995; Lord Voldemort is enjoying his new body and Harry is talking in his sleep about Cedric X3
**Hearing more hair talk** Michael Gambon RIP yelling at full force *HAIRY POTTAH!!!!* X3
"He stopped caring because his air stopped growing years ago."
Harry: "My hairy father was a great man!" Snape: "Your hairy father was a swine!" X3
Yay, Milo has the airships going! The Battle for Atlantis: The Hairy Empire! :3
"If he really gonna fly into it like ISIS?" Al-Qaeda . . .
I'm proud to be half Irish (and half Colombian); knowing that Rob O'Neill (the man who took out Osama) is Irish-Descent too :D
26:28 Yep, he's gonna completely insane! With the balloon on fire, Rourke knows it's all over, he knows he lost . . .
The only thing he's thinking now is "If I can't win, the least I can do is brutally murder the sh-t out of Milo!"
. . . Just like Milo probably is; I myself am a Ravenclaw. Please tell me you think Ravenclaws have the best hair :3
wow this is
a weird ass comment.
from the unprovoked rambling about unrelated topics, to the random harry potter references to the sexualization of her liking Milo's hair to the BLATANT HOMOPHOBIA AND ABLEISM and the John Smith fanaticism??
you really spouted nonsensical garbage and thought you did something, wow.
I recently found your channel and I am obsessed! Your humor, attitude, and overall vibe is just so great!
Side note: I can’t stop calling everyone a DUMB POOTAH.
So exited you finally watched this! I am loving this animated Disney film reaction coming all the time, I am so ready for it
It's hilarious that you point out how gassy everyone will be after the beans because they also make a fart joke. It's subtle but it's there ;)
Milo is hot AND smart what else do we need😩❤️
I really love when youtubers differentiate their ad reads from the rest of the video and make it easy to skim by
Super cool reaction. This is a fun movie, love how you fell for Milo and Audrey very cool. You are super fun at this so keep up the great job.
god this movie is so beloved
You know who the cook is Jim Varney Ernest he's also Slinky dog in Toy Story and Marty McFly from Back to the Future Micheal J. Fox is Milo
And Cree Summers Penny from the old Inspector Gadget cartoon not the live action movie is the princess
Milo is a special drink in Malaysia
I was in the middle of browsing on pintrest but a notification popped up saying you uploaded so here I am
I swear. At the end, for a split moment, I thought I saw Toothless blinking. 😂 I adore you for having a similar build-a-bear dragon as I do. Lol
@@rxbeccarose I know in the movie, the dragon’s name is Toothless. I got this cute thing, though, on the last day of my job (after I gave the two week notice.) And I couldn’t stop thinking of my doggo who passed many years ago, so I named it one of the nicknames I constantly used for her. 🥺 Ladybug 🐞
as someone who is bald, I haven't felt so stereotyped in quite a while :(
It's funny, your ad for glasses reminded me that I don't wear mine as much, mainly because I don't NEED them to see but they do help make my vision more crisp and clear especially at distance.
I love the video talking about the characters' hands because of how it describes the character
I god damn LOVE the expression on this movie. It is to DIE for.
Dylan from Dylan is in trouble looks just like Milo to me hahaha
Watched this in theaters when it came out and loooooved it oop
Hi Rebecca hope you are having an great and awesome day ❤
✨"pAuSe FoR eFfEcT"✨
I’d love to see Disney make more animated movies like these there so good. Milo is MVP being a nerd rules! Comics & video games all day
Not sure if you have knew, but there’s a alternate opening of Atlantis involving the Vikings that was later used for the game Atlantis: Trial by Fire.
heres a really cool fun fact about this movie that shows you how well thought out it is!! mr whitmore is a collector/finder of things that we think don't exist, right?
at the scene at 5:50, you see those big fish in the tank? those are coelacanths, an *ancient* species of fish that lasted basically unchanged to the present day. except! at the time this movie takes place, 1914, we hadn't found any living ones until 1938, *24 years after this movie setting.* mr whitmore found creatures we thought had been extinct for millions of years!
those fish may just seem like a cool rare fish tank decoration, but they are more proof that just because we haven't found something, doesn't mean it isn't out there.
i like to think mr. whitmore didn't tell anyone about the ones he found so people wouldnt try to fish for them and kill them.
My most favourite Disney movie as a kid
I mean back in 20th century Europe this was how they "explored", they brought guns and steel to places then used their superior military might to crush opposition.
Omg, now that you've watched this, you should do treasure planet sometime when you get the chance 😁
I never noticed how similar Milo and Daniel Jackson (Stargate SG1) are.
Don't worry. "Stargate" would get their revenge in their spin-off series.
As a blading person since 13, her input on hair has been enlightening 😅
This movie is defo in my top 10animated movies
Milo looks like Dylan is in Trouble on CZcams, he even reacted to this movie
You NEED to watch heartstopper rn, it’s amazing
you gotta watch Titan A.E. now
Pretty sure there’s a sequel!
Milo...Audrey....
Those two names would be used again in the 2010s era of Disney. Milo was used for Milo Murphy's Law & Audrey was used for Descendants
I'm sure there is a lot of that. I mean Audrey? That's a pretty common name.
I need a Rebecca/ Ash cross over reviews. Same chaotic energy but Brit/Mercian touch. 10/10 could watch all day.
Road to El Dorado!!! highly Suggest it!
I swear this movie made me gay xD I literally crushed on Kida, Helga and ma girl Audrey so ducking Hard! 😅🏳️🌈🏳️🌈
Still not seen anyone react to the sequel to this movie and it’s a real shame
And the next movie reaction will be...
KUNG FU PANDA 2!
RIGHT?!
Right...?
You have a new subscriber.
Milo is the reason why I like Daniel Jackson from stargate
Sophia Phan and Rebecca Rose are so similar that I thought that she made the same video a year later.
this is THE most underrated disney movie along with zootopia
I wonder if this film would of become her popular if social media existed back then
I see just how much you love The Lost Empire, thus let me warn you.
DO NOT watch Milo's Return. You will regret it.
i actually love it! but you have to appreciate it for what it is: not a movie
its 3 episodes of the animated series that tragically got cancelled, that they just pasted together
when you look at it as episodes of a tv series, imo, it seems like it was gonna be an awesome one.
@@ashleyjohnson9651 that's not exactly an excuse for deleting 70% of every charater's personality, you know. A TV series can be good AND keep the complexity of it's cast, which was not the case with Milo's Return. I'm glad you appreciated it for what it was but I don't think I ever will.
Grew up watching this movie
You’ve got the watch the second movie, although it’s not as epic as the first one but it’s still good!
i don't know how old you are, but i kind up feel sorry for people who didn't grow up with this movies, they were the best
To be fair he's been searching for this place his entire life and he his grandpa was searching for it his whole life too
Didn't realise until this reaction that Milo was voiced by Michael J Fox!!
I'd like to suggest another Disney film that got a lot less love from the company than it deserved: Treasure Planet.
Treasure Planet when 👀
Treasure planet next? 👀 💎 🪐
One of my top 10 wants for a future Kingdom Hearts game is an Atlantis world.
15:19 I can smell the fear
Can you watch “Hotel for dogs” I loved that movie when I was a kid 🥰
Milo is pretty kewt ngl
As nerdy person myself, I can easily say that Milo is very relatable and underappreciate as a main Disney protagonist.
He deserves more
@@rxbeccarose will you watch stranger things?
@@rxbeccarose Fun fact: The Chief is voiced by the now late Leonard Nimoy.
Atlantis is honestly so underrated like it’s so good
agreed
