- Naiki Gumi is a braiding technique that produces a hollow braid. You can make this hollow braid over a strong cord and then use it as a bag handle.
You can also make bracelets or key chains with this technique.

There are still so many things we can learn 😊
I learned how to do this technique about a year ago, at first it was very confusing cause the lady would do it twice to the right and twice to the left so I had to figure out to just do it once to the right and once to the left, which is exactly how you are doing it on this tutorial, now I can make bracelets with as many strings as I want without getting confused.
Good thing you figured out it is once to the right and then to the left.

Dear Marion, I want to ask you a question, Do you think is possible to combine hollow kumihimo braiding with loom knitting? Am a loom knitter and love it 😊, same for the kumihimo braiding specially the hollow technique, love the different patterns and I been wandering how beautiful they would look on a winter hat.
@@leticiagarcia2159 Maybe you could use a hollow braid as a brim on a hat. Or to decorate the hat. Just thinking out loud 😃
