This is a tour of ancient artifacts from all over the world with a new magic box recently found by the adventure club. Legend has it that the magic box has powers to bring anything to life with a touch of the jewel on the top of the box. But, legends are legends and its probably fake, enjoy the tour! :)

I am only a little embarrassed to admit, I was so impressed with this attraction, I cried...and I'm an Imagineer! I've worked with a lot of the people who created this attraction and I was so proud of their work. I've never seen a more amazing collaboration of creative genius. Some of the effects took me a third ride to figure out how they were done.
That version is just BEAUTIFUL ! I mean it, that "blue pixie dust"effect is stunning ! And the music is amazing too, I'd love to experiment that ride !
+TheSingeuse let me tell you, it doesnt look as good in the video compared to real life! espically the "blue pizel dust" effect :) if you ever get a chance to experience it i highly recommend you should :D

Wow. This is... STUNNING. Such a beautiful ride with fantastic animatronics, clever use of projections and the fact it's trackless so it had no limits. Wow. WOW. I wish I could ride this!

Albert is honestly the cutest sidekick in the entire history of animal sidekicks. I hope this bring this ride to the US, I'll buy all the Albert merchandise!

He was designed with love and care. after visiting Dlr, wdw and dlp, Hong Kong is next on my list and I'll see Albert in person SUCKA! anyways have a good day

Actually this is more of what Walt had in mind for the original Haunted
mansion, where guests would walk room to room and here stories by a host
as the room came to life around them.
I would travel there just to see this one ride, it looks FANTASTIC!
They should bring this attraction to the US - Disneyland and Disney World, respectively. The animation and effects are incredible! ^^
This ride needs a sequel at another park. It's use of traditional animatronics -like the other mansions - and newer animation is perfect. The whole ride is well exercuted throughout and it's a great for little kids. Also Albert needs his own cartoon.

From what I heard a long time ago, I heard that a Mystic Manor cartoon is in development.
For how long? No idea.
Also, some of the ride has some great callback to the classic ride, such as the changing ports ties or the enchanted musical

I love all the haunted mansions, and s one is really amazing! As much as I love Disney land and Disney world's mansions, this one and phantom manor are truly fascinating and original imaginations of the concept of the classic "ghost house"
Somehow I managed to miss the broken wall effect in the last room until this (fantastic) video. Wow, that's cool! I hope someday I can ride this on my own... But till then, thank you very much for the video. =D

This is so much fun! To me it feels like a mixture of the Pooh's Hunny Hunt in Tokyo and the hightower hotel version of the tower of terror also in Japan! I would say it has the vibe of those two rides more than the haunted mansion even though the two get compared a lot! awesome original storyline and i love the fact it isn't an IP! this is proof that attractions with original stories can still work in the parks and deliver awesome results!
Not what I expected, but really good! I love how they did the tracks differently, and the lighting was amazing.

Excellent video. We were there last weekend and this really captured the experience well. Focused on all the good stuff. Probably the second or third ride through, right? I know it took us two rides to get a feel of what to look for...

I love the medusa effect. I can see the snakes slightly in regular light. They pop out, looks like the eyes mechanically slide down slightly. The glowing eyes are fiber optic I guess? Looks like a lot of the transformation is just done via black light paint maybe? Very impressive and looks deceptively simple.
Why does disneyland has so amazingly designed rides. Just beautiful...
I often went to the biggest theme park in germany and the one cant compete with Disneyland even just a bit... I mean its still amazing there but Disneyland stuns me everytime....

OK, this may be a dumb question...but how do the carts know where to go sans a track on the floor? Programming? First time I have ever seen a dark ride without a track for the carts to 'run' on, pretty cool!
they have cables in the floor and have wifi connects with the vehicles. Winnie the pooh ride in Tokyo Disneyland uses the same technology as Mystic Manor :)

These effects, animatronics, and lighting are amazing! why aren't they using this kind of engineering at the Disney Parks here in the u.s?
the problem is that Disneyland's outside of the states (except paris) are funded by other company's. so disney basically doesnt have to pay for anything in the outer disney parks so the tech is much more advanced. well in some cases, you do see good tech in disneyland such as radiator springs racers :P Disney is very stingy when it comes to money :/

+truthb2u2 Well, the original (with the drop down implied suicide - the narrator) won't have flown in a conservative culture like Hong Kong. This was great, including all the animation and animatronics. And the music...man...I would have killed to go on this ride. Maybe next time I go to HK.

Although I prefer the western Paul Frees version, this wasn't bad. Much more newer, cleaner and sanitized. Still, give me those grim grinning ghosts any day over this

Because this is basically the Hong Kong version of Haunted Mansion. Due to cultural differences with the West concerning ghosts, chinese visitors wouldn't like the concept of a haunted house. So they had to completely reimagine the ride.

I love this attraction. Why does it seem that Disney ia a bit more sophisticated with its attractions overseas? The new little mermaid in WDW is evident.
All the Disney Parks (except Disneyland, Disney world and disneyland paris) are owned by Disney and a separate company so Disney does not spend as much money on the rides therefore the other parks get better rides :)
+LMG Vids Are.... you sure Disneyland Hong Kong dosent get better rides? Because I know i havent been to Disneyland proper in a while, but this is by far much better than anything we get at Disneyland CA or DCA. Like everything is just way more complex.
well maybe you mis understood me. every park expect disneyland, disney world and disneyland paris have funded rides therefor the other parks get better rides :P
+Joseph Lukowski In other words, Disney hired a third party to run the parks in Hong Kong and Tokyo, so it's not the same Imagineers from the American parks (or Paris). The problem though, is the US will never see this ride in Disney ran parks in the US or Paris because it wasn't their creation. I would assume too, that the maintenance level for this ride is out of this world too.
+David BCC Ethan Reed was responsible for a lot of the story and art of this attraction. He's based in CA. I agree this seems as though it's on an entirely different level. Another California based Imagineer, Tracey Noce, worked on the design of the beautiful ride vehicle. The story and merch can come to the U.S. after a certain amount of time passes.

It looks magical and so imaginative ! People must experiment loads of fun while trying that ride. I don't know if there is a similar ride in the Parisian version. If not, it must be done in the future ! BTW, merry Christmas to you LMG Vids !

No, Hongkongers speak Cantonese. English is their second language. Schools in HK need to learn English and Mandarin. Cantonese is just for speaking.

i got there at 10:00 (opening) and at max there were probably 200 people (mostly kids) the park was completely empty, but later on in the day the ride got up to 20 minutes. the longest wait in the park was 25 min XD

This story is actually different enough from Phantom Manor and Haunted Mansion that it could hold its own solo movie. Athough it kind of is a bit like the sourcor's apprentice and a curious George fusion but I still love it

Could be possible, Disneyworld used to have a lounge known as the adventurers club which was filled with interesting and bizarre characters and objects. Unfortunately the attraction was retired by Disney.

I like how it changes a lot with every park. Disneyland's Haunted Mansion exterior was Walt's idea while at Disney world, imagineers made it with their own beautiful ideas. Disney Land Paris has an even darker ride called the Phantom Manor (which is where the name of this ride comes from). And this ride can have its own movie

This is Hong Kong's version of the Haunted Mansion, which is located in Magic Kingdom.
Haunted Amusement! It's not really a version of the Haunted Mansion. It's what Hong Kong got INSTEAD of the Haunted Mansion. You could easily have both rides in WDW and no one would really be the wiser.
CoryTheRaven I think they're too similar. If they change the setting from a mansion to something else, like an actual museum, then it would make more sense. And get rid of all of the scenes that are taken directly from the Haunted Mansion, like the Medusa mosaic and the singing bust.
Haunted Amusement! Sure, take out the HM references, and maybe change the end because your average American isn't going to know who Sun Wukong is, but otherwise, it would not have to be changed around much. Mystic Manor is about as similar to HM as Pirates of the Caribbean is. The theme, ride system, music, story, and set design are totally different, but all three have you sitting in a thing, looking at other things, and some of those things are spooky.
meh... the ride was kinda not spooky in nature, im kinda disappointing, hong kong has some pretty cool scary stories and their own characters that would of been awesome to see in some sort of atraction. oh well....
well, you still gotta give credit to the imagineers who did so well on the attraction :P i mean some of the effects look truly realistic :D
well its hard to make a ride based after a horrible theme when your park is directed toward kids XD everything you see in there are replica artifacts from around the world so it kinda hard to implement Chinese horror stories into that.
Well, in the haunted mansion rides, the widow beheads her former lovers, it is not said or seen but it is inferred, its macabre to and extent with many other dark element along the ride.
In terms of story, Disney Imagineers in collaboration with other departments make concept sketches and models of proposed attractions. All im saying is, with all their research, all they could come up was with a story of an explorer and his monkey, not exactly spooky in nature. But they did what they did, and their's no point in complaining about spilled milk.

Chinese don't believe on Ghost they only believe in Spirits so Disney decided to not make a Haunted Mansion ride but a different version of mansion not a full ghost but full spirits.

There are projectors behind the vehicles close to the roof on the second floor. Thats all i know :/
Haunted Amusement! Correct - The scrims place themselves and vanish in brief blackouts - much the same way as the walls around you disappear in Poseidon's fury. The Magic Dust is an incredible illusion, it really looks like it's flying all around the room.
