    About Savage Custom Knives:
    We're primarily a knife-making channel, however, we do restorations and gaming-related knives.
    I've been making knives since late 2018 out of our garage. My background was cooking but mostly office working. Knifemaking has been a great journey for us from no experience and no tools to having a functioning knife shop, a growing CZcams channel, and now offering two classes on making knives from scratch.
    My motto is: "We will give anything a go and if we don't know how to make something, we will learn as fast as we can."

    Hello I loved the video and this knife is beautiful! I’m recently new to the knife making game so I had a quick simple question that I’m trying to figure out? I want to try to do the hammered or putting on a knife I’m working on but wasn’t sure if the hammering needs to be done to the blank before heating or do I heat up my blank just slightly then hammer in the pattern? That’s the only thing I’m confused about and would love your feedback to my question? Thanks again and keep up the great work and videos! I’m about to subscribe to your channel!

    There's one thing I don't understand. After you bedded the handle with the vaseline on your blade, I would think some vaseline would remain in the handle. Didn't you have to clean that out before you did the final glue up? How did you deal with that?

    I feel like I watch your videos and draw so much inspiration but want to ask a million questions.
    How did you straighten the blade after putting the hammer marks in and bending it? Did you do your grind in the non hammered side all the way to the top of the blade or was it symmetrical? What's the black stuff you're mixing with your epoxy? Love the work man. I tried to make something similar but my edge is so stout it feels like a knife axe lol.

    • @SavageCustomCreative
      @SavageCustomCreative  Před 4 lety +1

      I’m not actually sure what the g10 is made of sorry, the ebony is African from memory, bot all ebony is black, the blacker stuff is rarer then the brown

      @juro331 Před 4 lety +3

      @@SavageCustomCreative Sorry to bother you again. I found out what G10 is made of! I am still struggling to find that Stabilized burl though. I was wondering if I can use something like Birch. I also was wondering what the benefit of using Stabilized wood is ? Can I use a wood that is not stabilized ? Sorry for all the questions ;)

    • @SavageCustomCreative
      @SavageCustomCreative  Před 4 lety +3

      :) not a problem mate, most wood can be stabilised with special juice and a vacuum chamber, if you google stabilising wood you will get a lot of info, the main benefits of stabilised wood is it makes the wood denser, leas brittle if it’s a softer wood and the wood won’t move as much in heat as in shrink and expand

      It is a common problem for knife makers that use plate steels. You make the knife in the thickness it comes in otherwise it takes ages to thin it down a lot.
